Failure hit me harder than I expected, but it became the wake up call I needed for real growth.

In 2023, I went to the Military Influencer Conference in Vegas as a quarter finalist in a business pitch competition. I was confident. My program had already helped hundreds of patients and I thought my message was clear.

It wasn’t.

One of the judges said he had never heard of metabolic disorders in his entire military career. I didn’t advance. I was devastated. I felt like I had wasted time, money, energy, and time away from my family just to fail.

But not advancing ended up being the hidden advantage.

I stopped pitching and started connecting. That’s when I met Randy Blake. We clicked instantly on nutrition, discipline, parenting, struggle, and life. Later I found out he wasn’t just a humble guy. He is a world class heavyweight champion with real knockout power and an arsenal of weapons in the ring. He has become a true friend and the most grounded champion you will ever meet.

I read his book after and was amazed by his honesty, grit, and mindset. His story reminded me that setbacks are part of the process, and that perseverance is what separates the people who stop from the ones who rise. I highly recommend this book.
