Not all “protein snacks” are created equal 👀

Yes, nut butters contain protein… but they’re primarily a fat source with only a small amount of protein per serving. That means if you’re relying on them to hit your protein goals, you’re likely under-eating the one macro that actually supports muscle, metabolism, and satiety.

If your goal is strength, body composition, metabolic health, or healthy aging, focus on high-quality protein foods where most of the calories actually come from protein.

Better protein-forward snack ideas:
✔ Greek yogurt or skyr
✔ Cottage cheese
✔ Hard-boiled eggs
✔ Protein smoothies (30g+)
✔ Turkey or chicken roll-ups
✔ Edamame
✔ High-quality protein bars (check the macros)

Fat isn’t the enemy, but it’s not your protein source either.

Game day doesn’t have to derail your health goals 🏉 You can enjoy the weekend and stay on track with your metabolic health.

Make nutrient-dense foods a focus, like veggie trays, hummus, lean proteins, and balanced snacks that keep blood sugar stable and energy up ⚡ 🥕🌮🥗 (think veggie platters, baked wings, bean dips, etc.)

What does it mean at Vanguard Metabolic Nutrition to optimize your health from the ground up?

It means starting with the ground and your feet.
The foundations and systems that support optimal flow and regulation of hormones, energy, and circulation.
The things that support us before we even start our day.

When Vanguard Metabolic Nutrition first launched in 2023, I attended the Military Influencer Conference. That’s where I met Randy Blake Jr. and where I also met Paden from SickFit.

Randy and I immediately connected. He carries a real presence and energy you’re drawn into. He also introduced me to grounding, a daily practice he does, starting his mornings by taking his shoes off and connecting with the ground.

When someone whose performance depends on balance, power, and durability pays attention to his foundation, that matters.

When I met Paden, she had that same positive energy and strong presence you’re drawn into. I didn’t fully connect the dots at the time, but over the last two to three years, all the pieces came together.

More recently, I met with Paden on my YouTube channel to talk about health from the ground up, how that philosophy has evolved, and what makes SickFit unique.
