I wanted to post a quick update about the current regulatory landscape around h**p and CBD, because there is some uncertainty heading into 2026 and beyond. In January, a federal funding resolution was signed that includes language redefining h**p and h**p products around a 0% THC standard. The details of how this will ultimately be interpreted and enforced are still developing, but it does signal tighter federal oversight. The good news is that we are already 0% THC and operate under Washington state law, so we are generally aligned with where things seem to be heading.
Over the past few years there has also been what many call a h**p loophole. Some companies have operated as “CBD” brands while primarily selling high potency THC products derived from h**p, which created confusion and a regulatory gray area. Lawmakers now seem interested in narrowing that space, so parts of that market could shift fairly quickly.
Where things get less predictable is upstream. Even if finished CBD products remain compliant, new definitions and testing standards could affect growers and extractors first. That may influence supply chains, processing, testing requirements, and potentially pricing. So even companies following the rules may feel some downstream effects as the industry adjusts.
It is a bit of a confusing time, with recreational THC becoming more accepted while h**p faces increased scrutiny. As always, we are paying close attention. For now, we are standing firm. We are 0% THC and compliant with some of the strictest regional standards in the country, and we feel good about that position. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
