Since 2003 we have been serving patients in healthcare. We a small local practice that is rapidly growing and are excited to find that optimistic, enterprising warm-hearted receptionist to be a part of our team. Our mission is built around community and pro-patient care. We are seeking a full-time Front Office Receptionist! Experience in EHR and insurance are a strongly encouraged.
SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday, Between the hours of 8:15 to 5:30 pm. Mondays 8:00-3:30pm.
* 6 to 9 hour shifts
* Weekend Availability
PAY: Depending on Experience $15 to $19
The Front Desk Receptionist is considered a critical link between the patient and the care delivered by the clinical and service staff of the clinic. They are responsible for welcoming and greeting all patients and visitors, in person and over the phone. They will schedule and check patients in for multiple providers. They will also be responsible for registering new patients and updating demographics for existing patients, insurance authorizations/ some verifications., updating policies, creating flyers, and taking payments. They will facilitate clinic flow and keep the reception area cleaned and organized.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Successful candidates will have experience in a health care setting, will excel in multi-tasking, flexibility, telephone skills, is an independent thinker, great customer service, computer skills, time management, organization, attention to detail, prioritizing, and professionalism. Successful candidates will have administrative, front office and/or reception-related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and are eager to be the first person that our clients interact with upon entering the clinic. The Front Desk Receptionist must exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising the utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient, visitor, and staff interactions.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
* Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
* Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
* Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial.
* Facilitates patient flow by scheduling according to clinic policy, making confirmation calls, and checking in for appointments in a prompt manner while following protocols.
* Verifies insurance eligibility. Collect and record payments.
* Monitors waiting rooms (checking in with patients to make sure that they have checked in for their appointment, are in the correct waiting area, and have not been waiting an extended time to be called, helps to make the area comfortable and safe).
* Responds to patients’, prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner.
* Works with authorizations for insurance needs.
* Manages patient portal.
* Keeps office supplies and product inventory adequately stocked by anticipating needs, and ordering low stock.
* Participate in compliance, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience working in medical reception.
* Typing of minimum 50 words per minute.
* Use of computers, EHR and data entry.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.
* Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliations, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations, treating each individual with respect and dignity.

EDUCATION:
* High school or college (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
* Medical Front or Back Office Support: 2 years (Preferred)
* Medical Scheduling, Insurance Verification: 2 years (Preferred)
