✨ Triage during labor ✨ When you arrive at the hospital in labor, most families are first seen in triage before being admitted to labor & delivery. Think of it as the “check-in” spot where your care team assesses how you and baby are doing.
In triage, your care team has the ability to monitor your contractions, offer to check your cervix, track your baby's heart rate, and decide whether it is time to be admitted 🎉 or if it is best to head home for a little longer. 🕑🕒🕓
This time can bring up a whole range of emotions: excitement, nervousness, and sometimes uncertainty. As your doula, I will be right next to you – helping you understand what is happening, asking questions with you, and offering comfort every step of the way. 💛
🌿 P.S. You may also visit L&D triage during pregnancy for reasons other than labor. Be sure to ask your provider what situations might warrant a visit to your hospital's L&D triage unit.
