💚What is the WA Cares Fund and how does it work?💚
The WA Cares Fund is Washington’s long-term care insurance program that helps workers prepare for future care needs. Most workers in Washington contribute through a small payroll deduction. If eligible, you may receive a lifetime benefit to help cover long-term care services like in-home care, help with daily activities, and caregiver support.

When people say "let me know if you need anything," they mean it - but you're too tired to figure out what to ask for. Keep a running list on your phone: "pick up prescriptions," "bring a meal," "watch my child for an hour," "help with laundry." Next time someone offers, you'll have a specific answer ready. Accepting help IS self-care. You don't have to do this alone.
-----------------------------------
Aceptar ayuda ES autocuidado. No tienes que hacer esto solo.

Can't find time for a full self-care routine? Stack tiny moments throughout your day: Stretch while waiting for meds to warm up. Listen to your favorite song during the drive. Use a nice-smelling hand lotion. Drink your coffee from your favorite mug. Light a candle while doing paperwork. These quick moments add up and remind you that you're a person, not just a caregiver.
------------------------------------

Did your child participate in Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT)?
If your child exited ESIT at age three since 2022, or will exit in the next six months, we would truly value your voice.
The Rosalie Murrey Memorial Foundation is gathering feedback from Spokane County families to better understand transitions out of ESIT and identify where support can be stronger.

✔ 15-minute anonymous survey
✔ 20 dollar Amazon.com credit
✔ Available in English and Spanish
✔ Approved by the Washington State Institutional Review Board

Take the survey: rmmfspokane.org/survey
Spokane County residents only.

Transitions After ESIT Supporting Strong Starts When early intervention ends, many families are left navigating what comes next on their own. This Valentine's Day, love showed up in the most beautiful way.

Our volunteers gathered to create small Valentine's Day gifts for parents spending their days and nights in the NICU and PICU—because we know that when your child is fighting, every moment of support matters.

What made this event even more special? Several of our volunteers are parents who have walked this same path, or are currently caring for children with complex disabilities. They know firsthand what it means to feel seen during the hardest days, and they wanted to give that gift to other families.

To every parent in those hospital rooms right now: You are not alone. Your strength doesn't go unnoticed.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers who turned their own experiences into hope for others. This is what community looks like.

Sometimes self-care looks like sitting in your car in the parking lot and crying for 10 minutes before you go into the next appointment. And that's okay. You don't have to hold it together every second. Let it out. Turn on a song that lets you feel it all. Then take a breath, wipe your face, and keep going. You're doing an incredibly hard thing, and releasing the pressure valve is necessary.
--------------------------
