Sometimes the people you meet change your life in ways you never expect.

I may have been their trainer, but they’ve taught me just as much—about belief, consistency, and what becomes possible when someone keeps showing up, even before they fully believe in themselves. That’s the quiet magic of a good coaching relationship: you borrow belief from each other until it becomes your own.

For 18 years, we’ve shared growth, challenges, and—honestly—some of life’s best moments.
None of this was on the goal sheet that first day. We started with simple, surface-level goals like losing weight or getting ready for a one-day event. But reflection makes it clear: it was never really about the destination. It’s been the love for the journey that creates the meaningful moments.

I’m beaming with gratitude for these two, and for all the connections they’ve inspired as we’ve continued to spiral upward together.

Our first shout out of 2026 goes out to CoreFit member Vance, who set a goal to roll into the New Year with a metric century bike ride. 100.23 km later he crossed a personal finish line and met his goal! Any goal - including New Year’s Resolutions - give us an awesome opportunity to grow and develop our PERSEVERANCE, a key component of a strong mindset. The “head down, do the work, harness your grit and find your way through it” is just one aspect of perseverance. Another very important component of perseverance is the willingness and ability to adjust, get back up and return to the program when things don’t go as planned. Make a food choice that doesn’t align with your goal? Do you throw in the towel or acknowledge the misalignment and get back on track? Bad or unexpected weather? Does it bring an abrupt halt to your plans or do you adjust and press on? Every time you stand back up when you get knocked down, or get back on track after an unplanned blip or blunder builds PERSEVERANCE. There is value in mistakes or missteps and even misfortunes. Don’t let them detract from your goals. Use them to strengthen you and your mindset!

What if - instead of weight loss or financial goals - we weave mindset into our New Year’s Resolution? What would it look like to embrace the NEW of the New Year and commit to approaching each of the next 365 days with curiosity, excitement or anticipation about what the day might hold? What if we intentionally look for the new or unexpected that peeks through the mundane or routine? To focus on and make note of the small wins and experiences that can so easily be overshadowed by the more challenging bits? What if we commit to begin each day curious and spend a moment at the end remembering and celebrating a good or favorite bit in the mix? Shifting our circumstances, big goals, changing habits, and healing all require time. But choosing how we approach each day takes but a moment before we head out into it. 2026 offers all of us 365 opportunities to invite, notice, and celebrate the NEW. You in?

Turn New Year’s resolutions into a family event! Start a new tradition and gather your family around for an annual goal setting night. Whether your family is comprised of your kids, a spouse, or your friends who have become family, invite ‘em on over for a fun night celebrating what 2026 holds for one another. Set goals around -

*Skills - “I want to climb a rope” or “I want to go hiking for the first time”

*New learning - “I want to learn how to water paint ” “I want to learn how to cook”

*Lean into a current hobby or interest in new ways - “I want to enter photographs I’ve taken into three exhibitions or contests” “I want to replace one of my road races with an obstacle course race”

*Traditional resolutions reframed - Replace “I want to lose weight” with “I want to be intentional about daily movement” or “I want to learn to see food as fuel and make food choices accordingly.”

Create a 2026 celebration text string and invite everyone, including the littles, to share updates and wins. Celebrate the hope and excitement of a new year and claim the potential that awaits in 365 untapped days together.

Looking for an impactful way to shape your child’s perception of movement and nutrition? Model it for them! Invite them to see you enjoying movement and adventure. Give them a front row seat as you take on a hard goal. Talk through - out loud - how the doubts move in but don’t get to stay because you know what you’re capable of. Make eating whole, nutrient packed foods a normal part of mealtime instead of what you *have* to eat before you get dessert. Kids pay attention to our attitudes and our words about exercise, food and ourselves. Become an influencer in your own home and be a positive example in your kiddos lives every day.

CoreFit members just rocked their first Hyrox! Where are they gonna go? They’re going to Disneyland! At CoreFit we fully embrace hard work AND play. And what better place for a Hyrox afterparty than Disneyland? Members donned their Mickey ears and lived their best life. It’s community at its finest. I don’t usually get excited about gadgets…
but this one changed how I think about health, energy, and consistency.

Using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) helped me see how my body responds to food, stress, sleep, and training — and that kind of feedback is powerful. Not because it’s fancy, but because clarity creates better decisions.

We’re taking what we learned from our first CGM group and turning it into something bigger for 2026 — a guided program that pairs this data with coaching, accountability, and community support so people don’t have to figure it out alone.

It was a BIG weekend as CoreFit - the First HYROX training club in Spokane - headed to Hyrox Anaheim 2025 with athletes representing in the individual men and women, mixed doubles and team relay divisions! They invested months of training, taking advantage of our HYROX membership and putting in the work at one of our multiple HYROX workouts offered every week. All of their dedication and hard work led to outstanding performances by every member. Not only did they show up and leave everything out on the floor, the photos give witness to how fully they embraced and enjoyed the challenge. A resounding congrats to Betsy, Dan, David, Austin, Alicia, Janessa, Cybil, Sarah, Laurie, Jessica and Darren!
