We are honored to share that Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center is named one of Newsweek’s Best‑in‑State Hospitals for 2026, ranking #6 in Washington — and the only hospital on the east side of the state to make the top 10. 💙

This recognition reflects the dedication of our caregivers who live our Mission every day by providing safe, compassionate, high‑quality care to all who come through our doors — especially those who are most vulnerable.

We are proud to serve Spokane and the Inland Northwest.

At Providence, caring for the most vulnerable in our community is at the heart of our mission. We’re grateful to partner with local leaders working to strengthen Spokane’s behavioral health system so people can access the right care at the right time.

Two Providence caregivers are being recognized for their quick thinking and teamwork to save a man’s life.

After finishing their shifts, Madison D. and Kelsey S. noticed a man in medical distress and immediately stepped in. They called 911 and began CPR, trading off chest compressions until paramedics arrived. Thanks to their actions, he began breathing again before first responders reached the scene.

For their heroic efforts, they received the Providence Community Mission Board’s Exemplary Performance Award, which honors caregivers who go above and beyond in living our mission to know, care for, and ease the way of every person we serve.

We are incredibly proud of these caregivers. Join us in applauding them for their remarkable act of service.

We’re proud to congratulate the eight graduates of our Phlebotomy Training for English Learners program through Providence Health Training.

Providence supported them with phlebotomy instruction, an English language instructor, and added learning tools and class time to help every student succeed. These students completed eight weeks of classes and clinicals and have all applied for their MA-P licenses. They’re now taking the next step—applying for jobs at Providence and across our community.

This program is a partnership between Providence, the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council, and the Next Generation Zone, helping create career pathways and strengthen our local healthcare workforce.
