As the newest superfood to hit the market, our wide variety of green chickpea products truly are what’s new in Fresh. What is a green garbanzo bean you may ask? Harvested early and fresh from the vine, green garbanzo beans (same thing as a chickpea) are the immature or baby version of the traditional blonde garbanzo you are used to seeing. By picking them early in the plants live state, we capture

the beans while they are still in their fresh green state, meaning the natural sugars (good carbs) have not yet dried and converted to starch (bad carbs). This method of harvest means the bean is picked at its peak of nutrition and flavor. After harvest they are rushed to our processor to be further washed, blanched, and flash frozen to guarantee quality within minutes from the field. What makes a fresh picked green garbanzo bean better? First off, they very well could be the next super food. As a product that is all natural, certified non-GMO, gluten free and allergen free, green garbanzo beans provide outstanding nutrition while being low in fat calories, sodium and cholesterol free, yet high in fiber, protein, folate and iron! They offer a super health punch while also providing a fresh sweet flavor with a nice nutty crunch.

We grow, mechanically harvest, and shell our green chickpeas, and then IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) processes them. GREEN CHICKPEA THREE BEAN SALAD

Ingredients:

8 oz – Black beans
8 oz – Green Chickpeas
8 oz – Kidney beans
2 Tbsp – Extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp – White sugar
½ – Red onion, julienned
¼ tsp – Celery salt
¼ tsp – Sea salt
¼ tsp – Course ground black pepper
3/8 cup – Champagne vinegar

Directions:

Microwave Green Chickpeas for 1 minute. Mix all beans with onion, sugar, vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, and celery salt. Let sit in refrigerator for at least 8 hours. Serve chilled.
