Teddi Cripps

Teddi Cripps Licensed Psychotherapist & Perinatal Mental Health Specialist. I’m deeply passionate about helping people of all walks of life pursue wellness.

WHO I AM:

I am a Licensed Psychotherapist & Perinatal Mental Health Specialist based in a private practice setting in Spokane, Washington. I wholeheartedly believe in the systemic power of healthy individuals and families, and providing integrated care and support for people in their journey toward wellness has become one of my greatest callings. I attended Gonzaga University for my MA in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family work. My husband and I have 2 kids and a dog, and reside on the South Hill of Spokane. WHO I WORK WITH:

I provide counseling services to a vast demographic - adults, couples, and families - but my primary focus is on maternal/women’s wellness. As a perinatal specialist, much of my attention is dedicated to helping moms navigate the prenatal/postnatal period. My scope of practice covers a trauma informed, whole-person approach to infertility, birth trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, and other perinatal mood disorders - along with providing support through the everyday, ever-changing challenges and transitions that motherhood and parenting bring. The journey into parenthood can be extremely complex and often overwhelming, and providing a safe space to find support and integrated care throughout the journey has become the heart of my practice. WHAT I DO:

I believe in the power of counseling through an integrated, whole-person approach. My framework is based in attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I use these theories to help identify areas of growth and lead my clients to greater self-awareness, insight, and lasting, sustainable change. I am also extremely passionate about nutrition, and the vital role food plays in mental health and our journey toward wellness. With this, I regularly incorporate nutrition in my therapeutic approach. I provide counseling services both virtually and in-person at my private practice office located on the South Hill in Spokane, Washington.

Echoing with his “Big 6” core pillars for mood and mental health. Listen to his podcast titled “Mental Health Toolkit: Tools to Bolster Your Mood and Mental Health” - it’s a banger and oozes science-backed truth on the need to approach mental health from a wholistic, integrated perspective. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Just wrapped up my final class teaching as an adjunct in the masters of counseling program this semester at GU. ⁣

What a wild freaking ride. ⁣

I have an entirely new appreciation for academia and those that dedicate their lives to pouring into students day in and day out. You are a special breed (myself being a mutt 😆) and one that should be praised to the sweet high heavens. ⁣

Feeling honored and grateful for the experience. And equally inspired by the people I’ve met who are sooooo eager and excited to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. What a beautiful thing to witness. ⁣

When I got the offer to teach, I said yes because I knew it was going to make me uncomfortable and challenge the hell out of me. This was an understatement 😆 I felt 4736184985% outside of my element most of the time, but it’s the things that make us most uncomfortable that hold the potential for profound and lasting change.

Sitting in this sanctuary of an office space, being fully with my clients in a physical, tangible way has brought me more life than words can express. It has reminded me of the power of simply being with one another - unadulterated presence - all screens and noise aside. ⁣

Creating space for reflection, contemplation, healing and slowing down. To remember the depth and goodness and hope of life, to make meaning - the things that are crucial to our ability to thrive. How easy it is to get distracted by the noise and shiny things of this world.⁣

May we come back to a place of simplifying, quieting the noise, and allowing ourselves the space to reflect, think, and give and receive the gift of true presence with one another. ⁣

Happy Monday ❤️

“I’m just taking in the sun, Mom” ⁣

Seeing the world through his eyes has been one of the greatest joys of my life. ⁣

What a gift you are, Hankie man.

Snaps from the past couple weeks. Life has been a lot lately - some good, some heavy. ⁣

Feels like a season of transition on many levels. There have been moments that have brought me to my knees - both in surrender and petition, and in gratitude. ⁣

Grateful for it all, the hard and the good alike. ⁣

Watch out residential excavation world, there’s a new kid in town 😎 ⁣

So beyond proud to announce new business . He’s already crushing it and hasn’t even officially launched - goes to show this guys’ work ethic and character is unmatched in all he does. ⁣

Can’t freaking wait to watch this unfold for you, Ty. So so stoked.

I remember reading this quote in one of my undergrad classes back in 2011… it resonated with me then and it resonates even deeper now. ⁣

We get so caught up in the superficial things of this world, now more than ever it feels like. Find yourself some people who prioritize the pursuit of depth - the ones who long for the things that are truly meaningful in this life. The people who know how to think for themselves, who take the time to rest and reflect, who are willing to ask hard questions, and who celebrate internal growth over external success. ⁣

Start with yourself. Let people in. See what unfolds.

10 years today. Loving you is the greatest honor and privilege of my life. ⁣

You’re steadfast and unwavering. ⁣

You aren’t afraid to lean into the hard things. ⁣

Your work ethic (external and internal) is unlike anyone I know. ⁣

You’re gracious and selfless. ⁣

You make me laugh so hard I p*e my pants (more frequently than not post two kids 😅). ⁣

You fight for me, even when I resist. ⁣

You love our kids with a love that can’t be put into words.⁣

You validate and encourage my wild dreams and aspirations, and help find a way to make them a reality. ⁣

Everything you do is done with integrity and intention. ⁣

You’re the best person I’ve ever met, and I will love you for all my days. ⁣

Here’s to 10 beautiful years and all the rest come.

Be still my heart.

Scenes from the week. Franki girl and I repping for Gonzaga orientation, Hank riding horses with his cousins, house projects, meeting our new sweet pup who’s coming home with us in October, cinnamon roll dates with Gram, backyard adventures, work selfies, numerous sweet play moments between Hank and Franki (praises), Albus cuddles and a couple basement movie nights ❤️ *moments of overwhelm, tears from toddler meltdowns and tempers lost, and the overall sheer chaos of everyday life not pictured* 😉🙃
