Chair Volleyball Brings the Outdoors In!

We’re kicking things up a notch at South Hill Village by bringing the outdoors inside with a fun game of chair volleyball! The excitement began when we swapped out the beach ball for a balloon—just to make sure nothing in the lobby got damaged. But that twist made the game even more challenging! The balloon took a bit more effort to keep in the air, and some residents even had to stand up to hit it hard enough to clear the net.

Laughter filled the lobby as everyone got into the spirit of the game. It was a perfect mix of fun, fitness, and friendly competition!

Join us every other Tuesday afternoon in the lobby for our next round. Pick a team, have some laughs, and get your daily dose of physical activity!

A Spooktacular Halloween Bash at South Hill Village!

It’s been an amazing Halloween Bash at South Hill Village, with the Community Room completely transformed into a haunted house! Our local fire department joined the fun, participating in a lively “Wrap the Mummy” competition — where Fire Chief Marty Long himself got all wrapped up, leading his team to win the grand prize!

A colorful parade of creative costumes brought even more Halloween spirit to the celebration. And of course, the festivities wouldn’t have been complete without a special visit from residents’ great-grandkids, Luciana and Angelo, who stopped by for some trick-or-treating fun!

Another Exciting Week at South Hill Village!
Our residents had a wonderful time this week with a painting class and a dinner outing!
During painting class, residents enjoyed learning new techniques — for some, it was a chance to refine their artistic skills, and for others, a fun and fascinating new experience.
We also wrapped up the last few days of Oktoberfest with a delightful dinner outing to Das Stein Haus, a local German restaurant. Everyone savored traditional German dishes and, of course, a good beer to complete the celebration!

A Fun-Filled Afternoon with Jerry Breeden 🎶🪗

Today’s entertainment at South Hill Village was an absolute delight! Jerry Breeden brought more than just music — he brought a few of his friends too! As a talented ventriloquist and musician, Jerry filled the room with laughter, heartfelt songs, and joyful sing-alongs that took everyone on a wonderful trip down memory lane.

It was a beautiful way to wrap up the week, lifting everyone’s spirits and bringing smiles all around. Jerry’s passion for entertaining seniors truly shines through — his energy and warmth make every performance unforgettable.

Oktoberfest Celebration at South Hill Village 🍺🎶

Yesterday, we celebrated Oktoberfest here at South Hill Village, filling the community with the joyful sounds of Bavarian accordion music and the lively spirit of the season! Residents and their families gathered in the dining room to enjoy a festive afternoon featuring samples of German and Belgian beers and a tasting of traditional German dishes prepared by our talented culinary team, Michelle and Matt.

Our photographer, Maddie, set up a fun photo booth to capture special moments from the celebration — and there was no shortage of smiles and laughter!

It was a wonderful time to bring our community together and see the Village come alive with friendship, food, and music. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success — including our Regional Vice President of Operations, Erica Ogle, who even joined in the fun by serving as a waitress for the day!
