Hello Spokane Yoga Shala Community!
We wanted to reach out and let you know what we’ve been up to and our plans for the next steps of reopening. Although we do not have a set reopening date, we are working on a plan to reopen in the safest, most socially responsible way. With that said, here is how you can connect with us and what to expect moving forward:
What we’ve been up to?
Virtual Yoga! We have taken Spokane Yoga Shala online! We have been providing over 26 Live Streaming Classes a week plus we plan on Live Streaming more Workshops and Special Community “Gatherings,” including free yoga events! We have been offering daily free meditation classes, an upcoming weekly free class and so much to help our community in Spokane and the World have access to tools they need for a healthy mind, body and soul.
Online Yoga Library – We are building a YouTube yoga library of Spokane Yoga Sala classes and meditations at your fingertips 24/7 and, bonus, it’s free! link here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVQYWeg2cDBRHt-tywO_rag/videos?view_as=subscriber
Stay tuned for the Summer Series coming up mid-June.
Next Steps?
We would like to announce that our online platform will continue even as we slowly and responsibly reopen our brick and mortar studio! The response to Spokane Yoga Shala online has been incredible and helpful. We can’t wait to continue to evolve and grow our platform and offerings together. Currently we are focusing on creating quality video and sound. While we were quick to get our offerings online, we definitely have faced a steep learning curve in terms of offering a smooth technical experience. We are beyond excited to see what we will be producing in the next few weeks. So if the early on tech issues were hard to deal with in the beginning, please hop back on because we are smoothing it out!
Although we do not have set reopening dates, we are monitoring the situation closely and formalizing sanitation and safety protocols for our teachers, employees and students. We have always had cleanliness and sanitation as a top priority in our studios, but we’re returning to a new “normal” that will require us all to take even more significant precautionary measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Full transparency, when we feel it is safe to re-open, we will do so. Right now, the safety requirements, require wearing masks and class sizes are very small. We just think it’s not the right time to reopen health-wise and business-wise. When we do, we will do it in stages and with strict sanitation and safety protocols in place. This will look like significantly reduced class capacities, fewer classes on the schedule to account for stringent cleaning and sanitation between classes, social distancing at all times within the studios and more as recommended by the CDC and the World Health Organization. All of these efforts and planning reinforce our ability to reopen with confidence and stability. For now, please continue to join us online as we keep the Shala community and connection alive!
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all strive to make our way through this pandemic. As a small business we are incredibly grateful for your support and truly could not weather this storm without you. This is new territory and unknown waters but we promise to make the best, safest decisions possible in regard to reopening and protecting our yoga community. We may be apart physically but we do believe this is bringing us together as a community more than ever before. Each hug when we see each other in person will be even sweeter when we are safe and healthy on the other side of this!
Namaste, Sat Nam and Love,
Ara Yoga Shala
