When Food Looks Too Perfect, Pause
If it looks too perfectâuniform size, flawless color, or oddly long shelf lifeâit might be better left on the shelf. Real food is supposed to spoil. Itâs also supposed to nourish.
Most packaged foods come with an ingredient listâoften long, unfamiliar, and hard to pronounce. Fresh fruits and vegetables typically donât offer the same transparency, so we end up shopping the way weâve been trained: by sight.
And thatâs the problemâbecause weâre naturally drawn to the prettiest produce. Weâve been conditioned to believe a flawless exterior means âhealthier,â âcleaner,â or âbetter.â But science and modern processing can influence how produce looks and how long it lastsâsometimes prioritizing appearance and shelf life over what really matters.
đ
The truth? What we eat directly affects how we feelâfrom inflammation in our joints to how quickly we recover from spinal or musculoskeletal conditions. The cleaner the fuel, the faster the repair.
