Last week, Discovery Counseling Group had the honor of attending “Dear Sis: History in Motion.” A powerful runway 💃🏾experience presented by in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week.🤎🤰🏿

This wasn’t just a fashion show ✨it was a living reflection of history, storytelling📖, and collective care🤎. Each moment on the runway honored the strength💪🏿, resilience, and advocacy of Black mothers, while uplifting the voices 🗣️and legacies that continue to shape birth justice today.

We’re reminded that healing ❤️‍🩹 happens not only in clinical spaces, but in community🏘️, culture, and shared experiences. To witness such intention, creativity, and truth was both grounding🪴 and inspiring.

We continue to be grateful to be in spaces that honor the past, support the present, and advocate for a more just and compassionate future.✨🤎

Gratitude doesn’t ask us to ignore what’s hard it gently helps us notice what’s still holding us up 🌿

The power of being grateful is often found in the small things: a deep breath 😮‍💨 , a moment of calm, a kind word, or simply making it through the day. Over time, these small acknowledgments can shift how we relate to our experiences and ourselves.✨

Gratitude won’t fix everything, but it can soften ☁️how we move through life and remind us that even in difficult seasons🍁, something good can still exist even in difficult times.

Her research invites us to slow down, reflect, and become more aware of the assumptions we may carry. Because awareness is where change begins.✨
