🌎 Happy Earth Day from Riverview! 🌿

In honor of Earth Day, last week our residents and team members rolled up their sleeves and got their work gloves on to participate in Unveil the Trail! This is a community-wide event along the Centennial Trail that invites neighbors from across the region to come together and give the trail a fresh start for spring. Since Riverview has adopted a mile of the Centennial Trail, we do our part in keeping the trail clear and litter-free with this annual clean-up.

We spent the morning raking leaves, clearing sticks or fallen branches, eating some snacks, and helping restore a small but meaningful piece of the natural beauty that surrounds our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy the fresh air, and give back to the environment we all share. 💚

🎶 A wonderful afternoon of music with the Riversong Choir! 🎶

Residents and staff gathered today to enjoy a delightful performance featuring several beloved Easter hymns, two beautiful a ca****la quartet pieces, and a touching violin and piano duet from resident Victoria (violin) and choir director Taylor (piano)! The program concluded with a cheerful arrangement of songs from Mary Poppins, which brought smiles and a few sing-along moments throughout the room! ☂️🎵

We are so proud of the talented residents and friends who make up Riversong and grateful for the joy they bring to our community through music. Thank you for sharing your time, voices, and gifts with all of us! 🧡💚💙

Our resident Julie McElroy spoke with KREM 2 News representing the Spokane Master Gardeners! She shared some spring gardening tips for those who want to get started with the season, and even shouted out Riverview's hard-working honeybees for doing such a great job at pollinating our lovely gardens 🌺🪻🐝

What a joyful day at our Easter Eggstravaganza! 🐇🌷

Residents, families, and friends gathered together today to celebrate Easter early with a wonderful afternoon full of creativity, treats, and baby animals! Guests enjoyed jewelry making, egg decorating, and plenty of festive snacks and sweets. The main attraction of the day was our adorable petting zoo, where visitors of all ages spent time with sweet baby bunnies, goats, and baby pigs! 🐰🐐🐷

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this special event such a memorable time for our community. We love creating opportunities for families and residents to celebrate together! 💛

🏆 Riverview Wins Best Retirement Community for The Inlander Best of! 🏆

Today, Riverview Retirement Community proudly announced that we earned 1st place for Best Retirement Community in this year’s Inlander Best of Readers Poll! Each year, the Inlander invites readers from across the region to vote for the local organizations and services they trust and appreciate most. Being voted as the top Retirement Community is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices of the very community Riverview is proud to serve!

This recognition belongs to everyone who makes Riverview such a vibrant place to live and work. From the friendships shared between neighbors to the dedication of our staff and the wide range of activities, wellness opportunities, and events offered across campus, Riverview is shaped by the people who call it home.

To celebrate the exciting news, residents and staff gathered in the Terrace Rec Room this morning for a surprise announcement. After a quick intro (including a cheer complete with pompoms), we unveiled the banner to reveal that Riverview had won 1st place! 🥳 The celebration afterward included cake, coffee, and commemorative stickers declaring Riverview the Champions, all set to victorious music! It was a great moment shared across campus and a wonderful way to recognize what makes Riverview such a special place.

Most importantly, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who voted for Riverview. Your support means the world to us, and every vote mattered. Honors like this inspire us as we continue our mission to provide a vibrant, engaging community where seniors feel valued and supported every day. 🧡💚💙

🐾 The Ruff R***e is in the house!

Last week, Residents were treated to a tail-wagging good time as the Ruff R***e troupe gave an awesome St. Patrick's Day performance! The trainers and their talented pups Rudy, Amber, Wasabi, Rusty, Tesla, and Colby wowed the crowd with impressive tricks and playful routines set to music. The sport, known as canine musical freestyle, lets each dog bring their own personality and charm to the performance.

🍀 Woodcraft with Tommy John! 🪵

Residents got into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit at last month’s woodcraft project with Tommy John! We made little leprechauns out of pre-cut wooden pieces, which each person brought to life with colorful acrylic pens and a touch of creativity.

Tommy John, our Workshop Manager, then assembled and glued together each piece, then sprayed them with a protective finish for fire safety. He also attached magnets to the back, making it easy for residents to proudly display their festive creations right on their doors.

Take a look at everyone's handiwork on display — we think these little leprechauns turned out pretty lucky! 🍀

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration! 🍀

There was no shortage of Irish cheer at Riverview as residents gathered today to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! The room was filled with festive Irish music, setting the tone for a lively afternoon, and even some dancing!

Residents enjoyed a tasty treat of “Leprechaun Bait” snack mix and sipped on their choice of festive punch or green beer—because what’s St. Patrick’s Day without a little green? ☘️
