🌟 Resident Spotlight: Marilyn 🌟
This month, we’re honored to highlight Marilyn and celebrate her incredible life journey! Born in Seattle, Washington, Marilyn grew up playing the piano and developed a lifelong love for soft rock and 70s music. She is one of four siblings, with three brothers.

Marilyn began her college journey studying nursing at Seattle University, and later went on to graduate from the University of Hawaii with a degree in accounting. She spent 20 successful years building her accounting career in both Hawaii and California. In 1966, Marilyn married her husband, Richard, a graduate of the Air Force Academy. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, raising two children and traveling the world while stationed in places like the Philippines, Ohio, Nebraska, Hawaii, and California.

In retirement, Marilyn continued giving back by volunteering as an usher at Mountain View Theater and at a cancer thrift store in California. She and Richard also cherished their time camping along the west coast in their fifth-wheel RV—especially at Pismo Beach—and made many special memories at Riverside State Park while visiting family in Spokane.

Marilyn’s life is a beautiful reflection of dedication, adventure, and love for family. We are so grateful to have her as part of our community 💙

✨ Meet Louie! ✨
Today we’re celebrating Louie, our wonderful Life Enrichment Assistant, on her 2-year anniversary with Spokane Memory Care! 🎉

Louie truly lights up every room she walks into. Her creativity shines through in the fun and engaging activities she plans, always finding new ways to bring joy and meaningful moments to our residents.

Louie is currently going to school for Occupational Therapy 📚. She is also involved in the Christian Youth Theatre and has a passion for the arts 🎶. She has the sweetest pup, Henry, who visits our community every so often! 🐶

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Louie shared that she loves seeing residents feel successful when they accomplish something during an activity. Even when those successes may seem small, she says it’s a privilege to witness the moments when residents feel proud of themselves.

Thank you, Louie, for the care, energy, and happiness you bring to Spokane Memory Care every day!
