Seeing now that U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Collins' made a decision to halt the shoved final ruling towards Veterans and disability claims is a welcome sign. As a Combat Veteran and health care provider, decisions like these (see below) have profound impacts on the Veterans, their families, and the communities in which they live in.
For those who've never served and think Veteran disability claims costs too much, or too many Veterans manipulate and lie, I have two retorts. One, maybe stop going to war with countries in useless expeditions and expecting the blood of our sons and daughters to be used in these conquests. Wars cost money outside of bombs and bullets. Secondly, the agreement we have as service members to this country is a 'blank check' up to the point of our lives. We say what you tell us to do and often times do it without question. The least we can do is offer something in return towards returning the debt that will never be repaid. Assuming without evidence Veterans lie and/or manipulate the system is disengenious and without merit. Bring the evidence and then we can talk. Until then, support Veterans and their families.
