Sometimes the body isn’t the problem… the nervous system is stuck in stress mode.

Nearly 50% of kids today are living with chronic health challenges, often from layers of stress we call The Perfect Storm 🌪️

This can include:
• Stress during pregnancy
• Birth interventions affecting the upper neck and brainstem
• Early childhood stressors like antibiotics, toxins, and screens

When these layers build up, the nervous system can struggle to regulate — leading to challenges with sleep, digestion, focus, immune health, and emotional regulation.

The good news? When the nervous system is supported, the body can begin to regulate the way it was designed to. 🌿

Let’s talk visual imagery 👀 as a crucial strep in brain development. Visual imagery is the ability to create and manipulate mental pictures in your mind. It’s a foundational pillar of brain development that helps kids (and adults) translate what they read or hear into mental pictures 🧠. This skill is crucial for reading comprehension and writing development. Sticker story building can be used as a tool to help develop foundational writing skills or support kids who may be struggling with retention and reading comprehension. Give it a try, and let us know if this was helpful!

We've heard moms say:
“His first scans made me cry because of how stressed out his system was."
“I wish someone had told me this sooner…” 💔

If you’re a parent of a child struggling with constipation, chances are you’ve heard of MiraLAX.

What many parents aren’t told is that:

🚩 MiraLAX has been associated with concerning side effects reported by families
🚩 It is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐅𝐃𝐀-𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟕
🚩 Yet it’s still commonly suggested as a first-line solution for constipation

That leaves a lot of parents asking the same question:
Is there something deeper going on?
Here’s an important piece most conversations miss. 👇

Digestion and motility are controlled by the Autonomic Nervous System. When that system is under stress or out of balance, the gut often struggles first. Constipation can be one of the earliest signs.

The vagus nerve and parasympathetic “rest and digest” system play a major role in healthy digestion. When that communication is overstressed or disrupted, the body may struggle to move things along naturally, and kids can remain stuck in a stress response.

That’s why many families notice behavior changes alongside gut issues.

If you’re looking for:

✔️ Drug-free answers
✔️ A deeper understanding of why constipation keeps happening
✔️ Support that looks at the whole child, not just the symptom

“That’s the way I like it.”

The best changes don’t just happen in our office. They happen at home.

Parents will tell me things like…
“They’re falling asleep easier.”
“Mornings aren’t such a battle anymore.”
“They’re just calmer.”

That’s because we’re not chasing symptoms. We’re supporting the nervous system.

When a child’s nervous system is stuck in stress mode, their brain stays on high alert. This can look like bigger reactions, trouble with transitions, restless sleep, sensory challenges, or just feeling like they can never fully settle.

In our office, we look for areas where the nervous system is under stress and use very gentle, specific adjustments to help the body release that tension and regulate more efficiently.

It’s not a magic switch.
It’s helping their nervous system function the way it’s supposed to.

And when that happens, everything else starts to get easier. Not just here, but at home too.

If you’re in the Spring Branch, Bulverde, or New Braunfels area and this sounds like your child, please reach out, we’d love to chat and see if we would be a good fit! 🤍

There's a time and place for a quick fix, but it's time we start listening to moms and diving deeper into the root cause, especially for chronic constipation! 💩👏

If your toddler melts down during transitions… you’re not doing anything wrong. 🤍

Toddlers aren’t choosing chaos.
Their nervous systems are still learning how to handle a big world. 🧠

Skills like impulse control, emotional regulation, and flexibility take years to fully develop. When transitions feel really hard for them, it’s often a sign their nervous system is overwhelmed, not that they’re being difficult.

In our office, we try to look beyond the behavior and ask a deeper question: what is their nervous system experiencing right now?

When we support the nervous system and help reduce stress patterns, many families begin noticing calmer moments, smoother transitions, and kids who can regulate a little easier over time.

If transitions are the hardest part of your day, your child’s nervous system may simply need a little more support.

Save this for the next time you’re having a hard transition day with your toddler. 🤍

Grateful for the families who trust us with their babies.

Getting to walk alongside moms during some of the hardest (and sweetest) seasons of motherhood is something we never take lightly. 🤍.

There’s one system that influences everything in early development.

It shapes how babies feed, sleep, digest, move, and respond to the world around them. And that system is the nervous system.

When a baby’s nervous system is supported early, it creates the foundation for better regulation, development, and overall health as they grow.

Most parents aren’t taught to look at the nervous system first. And that’s not your fault.

That’s why families come to us.

At our pediatric chiropractic office in Spring Branch and Bulverde, we help support your child’s nervous system so their body can function, develop, and thrive the way it was designed to.

If your baby is struggling with feeding, sleep, digestion, or regulation, there is always a reason.

5 things I wish every parent knew, but might feel weird to say out loud 🤍
1. I think about your kids long after you leave the office. I celebrate their wins. I carry your stories with me. I care about them deeply, like they’re my own.
2. Every time a new family schedules, I feel grateful. Because I know what it took for you to get here. The worry. The late night Googling. The feeling that something was off. It means everything to be trusted to walk alongside you.
3. When you tell me something that feels small, like they slept better, had an easier morning, or just seemed calmer, please know those moments are huge to me. Those are the moments I know their nervous system is changing. Those are the moments that remind me why I do this work.
4. When your family is struggling, I feel that too. You may just see an adjustment, but behind the scenes I am praying for your child, rooting for them, and hoping for their breakthrough right alongside you.
5. And when you tell another mom about our office, there truly is no greater compliment. This work is built on trust, and I never take that lightly.
Thank you for trusting me with your child’s nervous system. It is one of the greatest honors to care for your family.
