“As most of you that know me or know of my work are aware that the majority of my career I have spent in the traditional global biotech and pharmaceutical industries. I remember deciding years ago to leap into the cannabinoid clinical research space prior to it being popular or main stream. I was criticized professionally and personally when I made the decision to enter the cannabinoid clinical research space by both professionals and personal people that knew me. I took a massive pay cut and talked about the need for clinical research in cannabinoids every chance I got. People were annoyed with me at times but I still persevered. Based on the clinical research that I had been exposed too, I had seen data and knew that there was a lot of potential for cannabinoids as a nutraceutical to become a therapeutic treatment for patients. These observations were made prior to my diagnosis of two autoimmune diseases in 2018. When I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune disease, I decided to try CBD and CBN tincture. It was helping me with my issues which was exciting for me to observe. This are not claims, just my personal experience. Later that year, my pain got extensively worse and I registered for my medical card in PA. I was somewhat THC naive but knew based on the research that I needed help with my pain and inflammation which I was suffering from on a daily basis. A little while later, I was diagnosed with my second autoimmune disease. I decided with the second diagnosis that I needed to make some drastic changes in my life. I started exercising daily, consuming cannabinoids daily, meditating more often, started Keto which then turned into an anti-inflammatory diet, watched my triggers closely and started removing toxic people from my life, began therapy and decided to end my marriage. All of these things, have made major changes in my life to my benefit. While my journey has not been easy and I struggle with my health daily; I am grateful for the medicinal powers of the plant. I am so thankful that I decided to move into this industry through clinical research which has led to patient advocacy, the development of AI Technology, and discussion advancements on my podcast sow, I am Christina DiArcangelo and launched The DiArc e-magazine as well. Every day, we are working towards making a difference in patients’ lives and providing them with the opportunity to take back control of their health. The picture below is a side by side of me in 2019 on the left and 2022 at a photoshoot. In the picture from 2019, I was inflamed, overweight, depressed, not happy, and anxious. I was a shell of a person. My smile was fake and I was hiding a huge amount of pain from those that knew me. Due to all of this, I will continue to advance clinical research, advocate for patients, push for strong data through technology, monitor patients as well as develop treatments for them. It is my duty to do so. The plant has so many powerful healing properties that still need to be further researched.” 🌱Christina DiArcangelo #420
