Giants in the news... in Norway 😀. Journalists from sciencenorway.no visited us in September and joined us for our Garden Party while traveling the US reporting on the 2025 Norwegian-American Bicentennial. This , we're looking back to the origin of our town's famous Ola and Per sculptures! These two iconic characters from the beloved Norwegian-American comics by Peter Rosendahl were brought to life by Spring Grove native, sculptor Craig Bergsgaard and cast in bronze. On May 18, 2002, the sculptures were unveiled as part of that year's Syttende Mai celebrations at Viking Memorial Park, and they've since become one of the most recognizable features of our town.

Did you know that Craig Bergsgaard has been working on a new iconic sculpture? It's set to be completed by Spring Grove Homecoming 2027, and it will honor the legacy of the farm family, the historical backbone of our community.
