This little one came in with some noticeable head flattening…. and look at that after photo! 🥹

Here’s something a lot of parents don’t know: when babies have tension in their neck (which happens more than you’d think…. even from a “normal” delivery), they tend to favor turning their head one direction. All that one-sided pressure over time can cause the skull to flatten or shift shape.
The cranial bones in newborns are incredibly moldable, which is actually a gift… it means they respond really well to gentle care early on.
Chiropractic isn’t always about “fixing” a flat spot. It’s about addressing why it’s happening in the first place. When neck tension is released and movement is restored, babies can hold their heads more symmetrically… and sometimes that’s all it takes to avoid a helmet altogether.

Not every baby can avoid a helmet, and that’s okay too. But early evaluation gives you options. 💛

The C-Hold Stretch 🤱

Notice your little one always turning their head to one side? This simple C-hold can help!
Gently hold your baby in this position for 30-90 seconds (as long as they’re comfortable with it). Make sure to do both sides, even if they’re only favoring one direction.

This stretch is a great tool to use between adjustments, but here’s the thing: if your baby consistently prefers one side, it’s worth getting them evaluated. There could be tension, muscle tightness, or alignment issues that need more than just stretching at home.
