Over the last several years as a therapist, I have tried to create some stories to describe all of the *s**t* that most of us humans experience on the regular.

Meet your amygdala — our brain’s tiny drama queen that is about the size of almond.

This precious little almond’s job is to keep us safe, but first, she loves to freak out.

That text you haven’t answered? “Danger!”
That meeting tomorrow? “Tiger attack!”
That awkward silence? “Run!”

It’s wild how much power we give to a nut-sized part of our brain.

You are the human — she’s a serious nut.

Please give her proportionate space in your life.

P.s. I hope you never look at an almond the same again.
