Roberta Ann Coltrane, age 85, of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Joplin, Missouri, Ann was the beloved daughter of R.A. “Jack” and Ruth Bishop Hanson. Her parents relocated from Joplin to Iola, Kansas where she attended grammar and high school. She married Jerry Coltrane in 1960, and they built a life together in Elmhurst, IL. They raised two daughters and shared more than six decades of love, laughter, and devotion.

Ann’s professional career was one she took great pride in. She began as a librarian at Hawthorne Elementary School and later became a secretary for Elmhurst College, where she also earned a degree in Urban Planning. Ann’s dedication to her work reflected her deep sense of purpose and commitment to helping others.

Beyond her career, Ann had a compassionate heart and a generous spirit. She volunteered countless hours with hospice organizations and the MS Society, always finding ways to lift others up. A woman of many talents, she was also an accomplished golfer, earning not one, but two holes-in-one throughout her life. She loved to travel, enjoyed the arts and attended many theatre productions.

Those who knew Ann will remember her for her radiant smile, her sharp wit, and her gift for making every room brighter. She was a loyal friend, a loving wife and mother, and a woman who found joy in simple pleasures and shared laughter.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband Jerry Coltrane; treasured daughters, Tricia (Ben) Balingit and Sherry (Phil) Philbin, adored grandchildren, Alex (Lauren) Balingit, Brett (Camilla) Balingit, and Brandon Balingit, along with her four beautiful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susan (Mark) Picker; and in-laws, Carol Olson, Jo Ann Clum, and Doug (Cheryl) Coltrane and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dorris Martin, age 77, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on November 5, 2025. He was born on February 9, 1948, in Franklin, TN to the late Archie Lee Martin and Eva Tennessee (Harper) Martin.

Dorris was known for his strong will, quick wit, and tireless work ethic. He believed in hard work and lived it every day. For many years, he was an over-the-road truck driver with Roadway Express, proudly logging over one million miles behind the wheel.

He could banter with the best of them. When not working, Dorris enjoyed spending time outdoors and had an appreciation for classic cars, especially those from the late 1960s. Despite driving all the time his love for travel never faded; he and his wife continued to explore the country together in their RV. Over the years, he visited 49 states—missing only Hawaii. Following cremation, Dorris’ children plan to honor his tour completing his journey, taking him to his resting place in Hawaii.

Dorris is survived by his children: Susan (Daryel) Thurber and Chad (Christy) Martin; grandchildren: Tyler (Lety) Thurber, Austin (Courtney) Thurber, Haley Martin, Addison Martin, Landon Martin, and Deegan Martin; great grandchildren: Oakley Thurber, Ryker Thurber, and Cruz Jimenez and several nieces and nephews. Dorris is preceded in death by his siblings: Azilee Smith, Archie Lee Martin, Jr., Alfred Martin, Thelma Ring, and Dorothy McIntosh.

Chuck Eirschele, age 60, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, left this world too soon on October 15, 2025.

Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Chuck was the beloved son of Grace Etta Schwass. He later married the love of his life, Christine “Chris” Buchholz Eirschele, with whom he shared a deep and devoted marriage filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering companionship.

Chuck was a loving husband, a devoted son, and a loyal friend to many. He dedicated his career to the field of Information Systems, where his hard work, intelligence, and problem-solving nature earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

A man of many talents, Chuck was an enthusiastic cook and skilled woodworker, always finding joy in creating and crafting, whether it was a hearty meal shared with family or a beautifully finished wood project. He was also a passionate Green Bay Packers fan, faithfully cheering on his team every season.

Chuck’s bright spirit and kind heart will be dearly missed by his wife Chris, his mother Grace, Shelly, Emily, Carol, and Chuck, along with his uncle and many extended family members and friends.

Abbey Leanne Elliott, age 38, left this world far too soon on November 3, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Her extraordinary life began on May 8, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia, as the beloved daughter of Rhonda Jones and Wallace “Lanny” Collins.

From the moment she entered this world, Abbey’s life was defined by courage, faith, and love. Living with Cystic Fibrosis, she faced each day with remarkable grace and an unshakable smile. She defied all odds, never allowing her illness to define her spirit, her laughter, or her boundless capacity to love.

Abbey was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved to cook and bake, filling her home with the warmth of homemade meals and sweet aromas. A devoted animal lover, she especially adored her three dogs: Georgia, Poppy, and Chanel, who brought her endless joy and comfort. Her creativity shined through her crafting, gardening, and her incredible knack for organization. Every project she touched was done with care and purpose, much like the way she lived her life.

Above all, Abbey’s heart belonged to her family. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially her nieces and nephews, who brought her immeasurable happiness. Her presence was the heart of every gathering, full of laughter, warmth, and genuine love.

Abbey’s memory will forever be cherished by her devoted husband, Scott Elliott; her loving mother, Rhonda Jones; her father, Lanny (Anita Young) Collins; and her siblings, Brandon Collins, Evan (Shelby) Collins, and Autumn (Adam) West. She will also be deeply missed by her nieces: Charleigh West, Elsie Collins, Ryleigh Collins, Brooklyn (Andrew) Ryan, Avery Elliott, and Paisley Denton; and her nephews: Kael Collins, Will Collins, Boone West, Noah Collins, and Hudson Elliott. Abbey is also survived by her mother-in-law, Kay Elliott; brother-in-law, David (Keisha) Elliott; and sister-in-law, Michelle (Aaron) Denton, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Billy and Evelyn Collins, Kodell and Buddy Evans, and Floyd Jones; and her aunt, Linda Shadburn.

Abbey’s story is one of strength, resilience, and love, an inspiring reminder that even in the face of life’s greatest challenges, joy and kindness can prevail. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service celebrating Abbey’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, with two hours of visitation prior to the service. Following the service, Abbey will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Kidney Foundation in Abbey’s honor.

Otto Frederick Zeise III, age 68, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Otto was the beloved son of Regina McQuade Zeise and the late Otto Frederick Zeise II.

Otto dedicated 30 years of his life to General Motors, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impression on those he worked alongside. Outside of his professional life, Otto was a man of many talents and passions. A gifted carpenter, he had an extraordinary ability to turn any piece of wood into a work of art. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, gardening, fishing, and hunting; always content when surrounded by nature.

Beyond his craftsmanship, Otto was a remarkable cook and an even better baker. His family will forever remember the countless delicious meals and sweet treats he lovingly prepared. Whether gathered around the table or around a bonfire, Otto had a way of making every moment feel special.

Those who knew Otto best will remember him for his bright, infectious spirit. His goofy humor, spontaneous songs, and carefree dances could lift anyone’s mood. Otto had a rare gift for connecting with people. He could strike up a conversation with a stranger and, in minutes, make them feel like an old friend. He lived with an open heart, loving deeply and unconditionally, leaving warmth and laughter wherever he went.

Otto’s memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Audrey Zeise; his daughters, Katie (William) Galle and Stephanie Zeise; and his adored grandchildren, Beckham, Charlotte, Jennings, and Sawyer. He is also survived by his mother, Regina Zeise; his sister, Kathy Catogge; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Otto’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, joy, and authenticity. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, with two hours of visitation prior.

Maria Basulto Valadez, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2025. She was born in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, to the late Maria Sifuentes and Lorenzo Basulto Zaragoza.

Maria was a loving and gentle soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed listening to music and sharing her love through cooking for family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Guadalupe Arana Valadez of 47 years; infant son, Gerardo Valadez; infant granddaughters, Angel and Vivian Valadez; brothers, Manuel Basurto, Lorenzo Basulto, Antonio Basulto, and Ramon Basulto; and sister, Connie Shaffer.

Those left to cherish Maria’s memory are her sons, Martin Valadez (Maria) and Gerardo Valadez; daughters Jennie Settelmeyer (Jerry) and Vivian Rocha (Richard); grandchildren, Maricela, Victoria, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Esmeralda, Jacob, Danny, Ayriana and Alexander; great grandchildren, Analiese and Naomi; and sister, Elena Figueroa.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00-8:00PM. The rosary will be held from 5:00-6:00PM.

Maria Lopez-Chaparro, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, to the late Domingo Lopez and Simona Chaparro.

Maria was a devoted homemaker and a woman of deep faith. As a member of the Catholic Church of the Nativity, she lived her life guided by love, prayer, and devotion, especially to Saint Jude Thaddeus, to whom she held a special reverence.

She is survived by her loving children, sons Jose Rios and David Rios, and daughter, Ramonita Rios; brother, Domingo Lopez; sister Elena Lopez; 10 cherished grandchildren; and 8 beloved great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service to honor Maria’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with Father Jerry officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Memorial Park.

Laila Rose Santiago, age 18 of Thompson’s Station, TN passed away on October 6, 2025 in Williamson County.

Laila Rose Santiago was born on September 10, 2007, in Joliet, Illinois, to Jennifer Rodriguez and Ramon Santiago. She was lovingly raised by her mother and father, Jennifer and Miguel Rodriguez, alongside her four siblings.

A bright and motivated student, Laila attended Summit High School, where she excelled academically and was recognized with High Honors. She received AP Honors and was known among her peers as a natural leader. Laila was a talented student and actively involved in her high school choir. She was an active member of Thompson Station Church, where her faith blossomed and touched the lives of many.

Laila worked as a Personal Shopper at Walmart for two years, where her kind and joyful spirit made a lasting impact on coworkers and customers alike.

Laila will be remembered for her vibrant personality, infectious smile, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone around her. The Holy Spirit radiated through her life, drawing people in and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was a light in this world, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Shirley Kay Jones, age 81, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, formerly of Salem, Illinois, passed away on October 6, 2025.

She was born on February 19, 1944, in Centralia, Illinois, to Oliver and Linnie Mae (Albert) Duncan. Shirley had a strong work ethic that led her to a long and successful career, ultimately serving as an office administrator for the company where she worked for over 30 years.

Shirley loved gardening and music—especially Elvis Presley—and she deeply cherished time spent with her family. She was a selfless and kind-hearted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James, Herman, and Warren Duncan; and sisters Alice Maxey, Velma Livesay, Rita Phillips, Eva Jett, Charlotte Heinzman, and Jesse Marris.

She is survived by her daughter, Marci Jones; grandchildren, Levi Miller and Nicole Miller; and great-grandchildren, Bauer Miller and Lainee Gentry.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Memorial Park & Funeral Home.

Linda Marie Powell passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Franklin, Tennessee. She was born on July 8, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Linda was a strong-willed and outspoken woman who loved deeply and lived life with passion. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael Patrick Powell, and a loving mother to Shawn (Jennifer) Powell, Eric Powell, and the late John Powell. Of all her many roles in life, her favorite was being “Grammy” to her cherished granddaughters, Madison and Adelyn Powell, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Linda’s love extended beyond her immediate family to include her nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were touched by her warmth, humor, and honesty. She had a way of making others feel seen and cared for, always offering her heart and her truth in equal measure.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Ralston, and her brother, James Ralston.

Linda will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her fierce love, her unwavering spirit, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew her.

Thomas William Davis

Dr. Thomas William Davis, beloved husband of Jennifer Davis, passed away on September 28, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, at age 68. The younger son of the Reverend Dr. E. Bradford Davis and Edna Sayers Davis, Tom was born in Ridley Park, PA. He graduated from Lansdowne-Aldan High School (PA) and received a B.A. in History and Archaeology from Wheaton College (IL). He married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer (Jenny) Little, also of Lansdowne, and recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. Tom went on to complete an M.A. and Ph.D. in Syro-Palestinian Archaeology from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Davis retired from teaching in May 2025, having been a Professor of Archaeology at Lipscomb University and Associate Director of the Lanier Center for Archaeology, as well as Professor of Archaeology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. After a position in cultural resource management for Goodwin & Associates in Frederick, Maryland, Tom and Jenny relocated to Nicosia, Cyprus, where Tom served as Director of the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) from 2003 to 2011. He had extensive excavation experience in the United States, Cyprus, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, and Kazakhstan. Best known for his work on Biblical Backgrounds and early Christianity, Tom was the author of Shifting Sands: The Rise and Fall of Biblical Archaeology (2004) and a major contributor to the Archaeology Study Bible (2017).

Tom was a lifelong Christian, serving as a Presbyterian elder, Adult Education teacher, Missions Committee member, and choir member, among other contributions. While in Tennessee, Tom was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

A devotee of J.R.R. Tolkien and Sherlock Holmes, Tom was also an avid reader of medieval history and a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Over the years, he and Jenny enjoyed traveling in Europe and the Middle East.

In addition to his wife Jennifer, Tom is also survived by a brother, Edward B. Davis (Kathryn) of Dillsburg, PA; nieces Katherine Elizabeth Draney (Merritt) of Hampton, VA, and Julia Lynn Blackburn (Michael) of Sinking Spring, PA; father-in-law David Wilmore Little of Wayne, PA; brother-in-law Thomas David Little (Marigene) of Prince George, VA; sister-in-law Christina Ann Allmer (Edwin) of Rockledge, PA; and nephews Sean Patrick Little of Prince George, VA, and Matthew Thomas Little (Kristen) of San Antonio, TX.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 33 Burton Hills Blvd., Nashville. To honor Tom’s life and legacy, the family asks that memorial gifts in lieu of flowers be directed to the Lanier Center for Archaeology at Lipscomb University, 1 University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.

Donald Robert Doane

Donald Robert Doane, age 80 of Spring Hill, TN passed away September 25, 2025. Don is formerly of Warren, Ohio and moved to Tennessee in 1987. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army, flying UH-1 Huey helicopters in Viet Nam with the 1st Cavalry Division, 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion. After returning home, he continued his service flying for the Ohio National Guard’s 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment for 28 years. He was very proud of his service and accomplishments, earning the Bronze Star with “V” device for valor, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and numerous Air Medals. He achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 during his career.

Don was a long tenured employee of General Motors and worked as a tool and die maker at the Lordstown, Ohio Fisher Body manufacturing plant. He helped GM implement new concepts in Labor – Employee relations through his efforts to establish and provide Quality of Work Life (QWL) programs. His experiences at Lordstown with QWL led to him being selected as one of the 99 people that started the fledging motor company called Saturn. During his time at Saturn, he remained a member of the UAW and worked in numerous roles within the Sales, Service and Marketing department. During the final phase of his career, he returned to his roots as a tool maker within the Powertrain department.

He was truly a renaissance man, serving his country when called upon, helping to start a new car company from scratch, and raising a successful family. He will be missed by all for his wit, humor, sage advice, and love of a good time.

Preceded in death by parents, Lyman Robert and Harriet Marie Carnahan Doane and brother, Ricky Doane.

Survived by: wife, Shirley Marlin Beatty Doane; son, Michael (Joelle) Mowry; daughters, Michelle (John) Olak and Angela (Frank) Chapa; bonus children, Tracie (Randy) Westbrook, Brent (Kristi) Beatty and Travis (Cheri) Beatty; sisters, Arvella “Timmy” (Tony) Rothermel and Susan (Randy) Ference; grandchildren, Eli Chapa, Finn Chapa, Laurene (Michael) LoVullo, Hannah (Ben) De Los Angeles, Shawn Whitney (Hayden) Burns, Grayson Beatty, Connor Beatty, Austin (Keri) Beatty and Case (Anna Laura Henderson) Beatty; great grandchildren, Michael LoVullo, Henry LoVullo, Layton Burns and Ridge Burns.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, October 4, 2025 with military honors at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with visitation 1:00 PM until time of service on Saturday. The inurnment will be at a later date at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/
