Fatty fish (i.e. herring, mackerel, salmon, sardines, trout, tuna, etc.), white fish (i.e. catfish, cod, haddock, po***ck, tilapia, whiting, etc.), shrimp, scallops, and others.

đŸ„› DAIRY (LOW-FAT & NON-FAT)
Eggs, kefir, low-fat cottage cheese, low-fat milk, low-fat Greek yogurt, part-skim ricotta cheese, and more.

One of the updates to the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans is the protein recommendation.

The oft-cited 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight was never intended to be the goal, but rather a minimum to avoid a negative nitrogen balance.

And so it’s good to see the updated recommendation provide clarity on this front, along with the encouragement to “prioritize protein foods at each meal.”

Protein should be sourced from a variety of animal and plant foods, including but not limited to: eggs, poultry, seafood, [lean] red meat, beans, peas, lentils, legumes, nuts, seeds, soy, etc.
