Why's a sleep doctor ecstatic about the FDA's recent announcement?!

The FDA just removed the black box warning from estrogen therapy—and this is HUGE for women’s sleep health!

Estrogen (and progesterone) is crucial for sleep!

When they decline during menopause, sleep often crashes.

Estrogen helps:
👉🏽Regulate temperature (no more night sweats!)
👉🏽Support sleep quality
👉🏽Reduce sleep apnea risk through some of its protective effect on the upper airway ( this needs more research!)

Progesterone:

👉🏽Has natural calming effects ( we call it natures Xanax!)
👉🏽Promotes deep, restorative sleep
👉🏽Supports healthy breathing during sleep
👉🏽 Helps reduce some of those 3 am wake up!

While HRT is not for everyone and DOES NOT fix sleep disorders ( you still need treatment for your sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, chronic insomnia), for many years these, outdated warnings kept millions of women from this life-changing therapy.

If you’re in your 40s or early 50s and you’ve been brushing off constant fatigue, 3 AM wake-ups, or mood swings as “just stress”… it may be something more.
