📞Call or text your doctor directly; no more waiting in complicated phone trees. Dr. Holton will coordinate with your specialist and even visit you at home or hospital when required!

🟢 He will see people with any health insurance plan, he will not charge your insurance. You can still use your insurance for hospitalizations, specialists, imaging, etc. Starting 2026 you will be able to use your HSA funds to cover our membership fee!

🟢 No insurance? No problem, he will help you find the most affordable self-pay cash options for imaging and labs. We do advise you have some type of coverage for big ticket items like hospital stays and accidents.

Meet Dr. Holton!

Dr. Holton was born and raised in a retirement community in East Tennessee. From an early age, he enjoyed spending time with the elderly. He chose to be a doctor after experiences with his grandmother suffering from dementia and his mother having a stroke.

He studied biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating the top of his class. From 2010 - 2018 he lived in Houston, Texas, where he completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and geriatrics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

In 2018, he and his family moved to Grand Haven. As an attending physician, he has led the Trinity Health Muskegon Internal Medicine Residency Clinic, served as lead physician for Westshore Internal Medicine, and has been elected as Department Chair of Primary Care.

In his clinical practice, he seeks to actively listen, to understand his patients, and partner with them, guiding them on their health journey. He is honest with them about their health conditions and prognosis, while remaining empathetic and compassionate. He coordinates care actively with specialists and curates the care team to meet his patients’ needs and priorities. He believes in shared decision-making and seeking second opinions when necessary.

He is opening Dune Shores Health so patients can get the time and attention they deserve. He believes that the doctor and patient should decide the course of treatment - not the insurance companies and corporations.

For fun he enjoys spending time with his family, running (he has run 5 marathons so far), and playing classical piano.
