Today, Tri County Care proudly joined The Care Management Alliance of New York (CMANY) at the State Capitol in Albany to advocate for the individuals and families we serve.
Together, we met with legislators and staff, including Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski, Assemblyman Santabarbara, Senator Bill Weber, and Senator Patricia Fahy, to urge the State to include Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) in the targeted inflationary increase within the State Budget.
CCOs were removed from the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) three years ago. Restoring this funding is critical to sustaining the dedicated workforce of Care Managers who serve as a lifeline to the I/DD community, helping individuals navigate services, access supports, and live safely and independently in their communities.
We’re grateful for the time and partnership of the legislative teams we met with and look forward to continuing these important conversations to ensure Care Managers, and the people they support, receive the investment they deserve.
