Yesterday, TCC spent the day at the State Capitol advocating for the restoration of Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) to the targeted inflationary (COLA) increase in the 2025–2026 budget.

The message was heard. Senate and Assembly leadership are aware of the exclusion — and we are encouraged by the support behind inclusion in the One-House budget bills.

When CCOs were first eligible for this increase, it strengthened the workforce. Restoring that eligibility will protect the Care Managers who serve as lifelines to individuals and families with I/DD.

Today, Tri County Care proudly joined The Care Management Alliance of New York (CMANY) at the State Capitol in Albany to advocate for the individuals and families we serve.

Together, we met with legislators and staff, including Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski, Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio, Assemblyman Santabarbara, Senator Bill Weber, and Assemblywoman Karen McMahon-Met, to urge the State to include Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) in the targeted inflationary increase within the State Budget.

CCOs were removed from the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) three years ago. Restoring this funding is critical to sustaining the dedicated workforce of Care Managers who serve as a lifeline to the I/DD community, helping individuals navigate services, access supports, and live safely and independently in their communities.

We’re grateful for the time and partnership of the legislative teams we met with and look forward to continuing these important conversations to ensure Care Managers, and the people they support, receive the investment they deserve.

It was an honor to meet with New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins at the State Capitol in Albany on Tuesday, January 20. We had a meaningful and productive conversation about the critical role Care Managers play and the importance of including them in the COLA in the New York State budget. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue building a strong partnership to advance the needs of the individuals and families we serve.

We were also pleased to run into Senator Bill Weber outside the Senate Chamber — a longtime supporter of our work and a true advocate for Care Managers and the communities we represent. Thank you for your continued leadership and support!

Last week, on July 22, we had the privilege of hosting Senator Patricia A. Fahy, Chair of the NYS Senate Disabilities Committee, at our Albany office. The Senator spent meaningful time with our team, including hearing first-hand from many of our dedicated Care Managers who have been doing this important work for years.

Her visit reflected a deep understanding of the challenges and commitments involved in care coordination, and her leadership reinforces the value of investing in the people behind this work. We are proud to have the Senator’s voice in Albany, as she is an advocate who truly sees and supports the care managers and staff at the heart of the I/DD system.

We are grateful for her time, advocacy, and partnership, and look forward to continuing our work together to create lasting impact.

We were honored to welcome Assemblyman Patrick Carroll, who represents New York State Assembly District 96, to our Spring Valley office on July 16! During his visit, he engaged with TCC staff and sat down for meaningful conversation with our leadership team to learn more about our work.

It was clear throughout his visit that Assemblyman Carroll is a staunch advocate for the I/DD community and deeply committed to supporting the staff who serve them. Knowing we have such a dedicated representative in the State Assembly gives us confidence in the future of care coordination and support services in our region.
