About this event: Starting kindergarten is a big milestone, let’s make it exciting, not overwhelming! Join SOS Spring for a fun and informative workshop designed to help parents of children with autism prepare for a smooth transition into school.

We’ll share practical tips like pre-teaching grade-appropriate academics before the school year starts, and give you a list of free educational resources like Ms. Rachel, Blippi, Gracie’s Corner, and Daniel Tiger to make learning fun at home. You’ll also learn how to set up a distraction-free study space, use wipeable activity books, and make the most of flashcards for early math and reading skills.

Plus, we’ll cover school enrollment timing and special education services, including when to contact your neighborhood school, what to expect during evaluations, and how to prepare for an ARD meeting.

Whether you’re months away from the first day of school or just starting to think ahead, you’ll leave with tools, timelines, and confidence to help your child thrive from day one.

All ages and abilities are welcome.
