Beautiful surrender often begins where striving ends 🤍
When people seek closure whether emotional, relational, financial, or related to addiction they often assume it comes from having all the answers. In reality, closure often comes from surrender. From laying it down and choosing to move forward with trust and intention.
There is a line from the song Touch The Sky that captures this beautifully 🎶
“I found my life when I laid it down… I touched the sky when my knees hit the ground.”
Healing often begins in that space of surrender 🙏🏼
At LifeSpring Behavioral Health, Mark Kakos, LCDC works with individuals navigating addiction, recovery, and the complex emotional layers that come with letting go 🌱 Faith and prayer matter, and Mark also integrates practical, evidence based tools to help clients process and find closure.
One meaningful exercise he often encourages is writing a goodbye letter to your addiction ✍🏼 This letter is not about perfection or shame. It is about honesty. Acknowledging what has been lost, what has hurt, and what you are choosing to release. It is also about looking ahead and naming the future you want to move toward.
Do not overthink the words. Do not worry about edits. This letter is for you 🤍 It is about closure, freedom, and choosing not to let your past define you.
If you or someone you love is seeking support for addiction or recovery, Mark Kakos, LCDC, offers a grounded, compassionate approach to healing and growth. Give LifeSpring a call 📞 for more information. We would be honored to walk with you.
