We had the opportunity to attend the Tomball ISD Mental Health & Wellness Fair, and I’m grateful we were able to be there and connect with our community.

I got to meet students, families, and educators, and have conversations around mental health, support, and what it looks like to take care of ourselves in a practical way. Being in spaces like this is important—it’s how we continue to bring awareness, offer support, and meet people where they are.

Thank you to for putting this together and for the intention behind creating something that supports our community. I’m grateful to be part of it.

I also had copies of my book, Healing Is Within You, available and was able to share the message that we are all worthy of healing, no matter our past.

We’re excited to be attending the Tomball ISD Mental Health & Wellness Fair today. It’s a meaningful opportunity to connect with students, families, and our community, and to be present in a space that prioritizes mental health and well-being.

Thank you to Tomball ISD for putting this event together. We’re honored to be part of a community that values care, connection, and growth, and we’re looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces later today. Come join us and say hello.

founder of Calderas Counseling, will also have copies of her book, Healing Is Within You, available and will be signing them at the event. It’s a guide for women who are ready to understand their past, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with clarity and self-trust.

When the world feels heavy, divided, or unsafe, those feelings don’t stay outside of us. They settle into our bodies, our thoughts, and our relationships. Anxiety can grow louder. Depression can deepen. Anger can feel like the only way to protect ourselves from feeling hurt, powerless, or unseen.

Many people are carrying more than they realize—frustration from not being understood, exhaustion from constant tension, and fear about what comes next. Anger often isn’t the problem; it’s a signal. A sign that something inside needs care, regulation, and understanding. And anxiety and depression aren’t weaknesses—they’re responses to prolonged stress, disconnection, and overwhelm.

When Dr. King spoke about love, he spoke about a choice—a way of responding to pain that doesn’t harden us further. Love is what interrupts cycles of reactivity. It allows space for difficult emotions without letting them take over. It creates room for dignity, humanity, and connection, even when disagreement, grief, or anger are present.

At Calderas Counseling, we see how choosing love begins internally—learning to respond to yourself with patience, to regulate before reacting, and to create boundaries that protect your wellbeing. Supporting mental health means helping people find steadiness amid uncertainty and reconnect with their sense of dignity and humanity, even in divided times.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, angry, numb, or tired of carrying it alone, support is available. You don’t have to navigate this on your own.

The beginning of a new year can bring reflection, motivation, and pressure all at once. It often invites us to reset, set goals, or do things differently—while also surfacing stress, tension, and familiar patterns, especially in relationships. Approaching this season with intention and self-awareness can help you move forward feeling more steady and supported.

1. Clarify your priorities
The start of the year can come with many expectations—goals, commitments, and responsibilities that don’t all need your attention at the same time. Taking a moment to identify what truly matters right now can help reduce overwhelm and bring focus. When your priorities are clear, it becomes easier to let go of what can wait.

2. Practice presence over perfection
Once priorities are set, presence becomes more accessible. Being present doesn’t require everything to be perfectly planned or organized. It means allowing yourself to engage with your time, energy, and relationships in a way that feels honest and sustainable. Presence creates space for connection and routines that support you rather than drain you.

3. Set and honor boundaries
Boundaries are an important part of protecting your energy. It’s okay to say no, adjust plans, or step away from conversations or commitments that feel draining. Without boundaries, stress can build quickly and lead to resentment or burnout. With clear boundaries, you can stay connected without overextending yourself.

As a new year begins, it often carries an unspoken expectation to feel hopeful, motivated, or ready for what’s next. And yet, for many people, this transition can bring up grief, loneliness, or a quiet sense of loss. If that’s where you find yourself, know that nothing is wrong with you. A new calendar does not require a new emotional state.

Loneliness can feel especially tender at the start of a new year. Even when life appears full, there can be moments of disconnection, longing, or sadness for what has changed or what is missing. During this time, creating something intentional—something that grounds you—can be supportive. This might look like beginning a simple ritual that brings comfort, spending intentional time with a pet or loved one, journaling, or engaging in a meaningful act of care or generosity. These moments don’t have to be big to matter.

For those carrying grief or loss, the new year can amplify absence. Rather than pushing those feelings aside, it can be healing to acknowledge them with compassion. Allowing space to remember a loved one—through reflection, shared stories, or quiet moments of honoring—can help integrate grief into this next chapter. Love does not disappear with loss; it often simply asks to be held differently.

As you move into the year ahead, be gentle with yourself. Healing does not move on a timeline, and growth doesn’t require urgency. By allowing space for what you feel, honoring what you’ve lost, and moving forward at your own pace, you create room for both grief and hope to coexist.

Happy New Year 2026 🎉
From all of us at Calderas Counseling, we’re wishing you a year rooted in growth, clarity, self-trust, and wellbeing.

As the new year begins, we hope you allow yourself the space to reflect, reset, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Progress often comes from small, intentional steps and giving yourself permission to ask for support when you need it.

We’re grateful for the trust you place in us and for the opportunity to support your mental health journey. Wishing you a year filled with balance, peace, and continued healing.

So many of us pour out love, energy, and time to care for others. But what about the care we owe ourselves? Saying yes over and over can leave our hearts and minds depleted 😢

If you’re feeling stretched, overwhelmed, or simply disconnected from your inner peace—know that it’s okay to pause. It’s okay to honor what you need first. Healing begins in gentleness: respecting your boundaries, reclaiming your energy, and allowing yourself the kindness you freely give.

You are worthy of space. You are worthy of rest. You are worthy of your own yes. And if you’re ready to explore this more deeply, you can schedule a session with one of our therapists. We’re here to support you.
