Yes, this is a tattoo device!

Both tools can reach the dermis, but a dermal tattoo device gives greater control and consistency over needle depth. That precision is especially important when treating pigmentation, where depth and placement directly affect both results and safety.

Because the needle movement is more stable and less dependent on pressure, I’m able to customize treatment across different areas of the face, creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate skin renewal while minimizing unnecessary trauma.��

Microneedling pens:
* Typically reach the epidermis and superficial dermis
* Depth is adjustable, but:
* Actual pe*******on can vary based on pressure, angle, skin thickness
* Less consistent depth from pass to pass
* Great for general skin rejuvenation, collagen stimulation

Dermal tattoo devices:
* Designed to place pigment precisely into the dermis
* Allow extremely controlled, consistent needle depth
* More stable needle movement = less bounce, more accuracy
* Can target specific dermal layers more intentionally (important for scalp/hair work)�

This is why filler should never be treated as a “simple” procedure.�

A vascular occlusion happens when filler unintentionally enters or compresses a blood vessel, restricting blood flow. Early recognition can make the difference between a reversible event and permanent tissue damage. Warning signs may include immediate or worsening pain, blanching or whitening of the skin, livedo or mottled discoloration, coolness to the touch, or delayed capillary refill.�

In this case, I used ultrasound imaging to locate the occlusion. Once identified, I treated the occlusion by dissolving the filler with Hylenex, working in a controlled, targeted manner to restore blood flow and protect the surrounding tissue.�

This is why filler should never be treated as a “quick cosmetic procedure.” It requires a deep understanding of facial anatomy, advanced training, and access to tools like ultrasound and emergency reversal agents.�

Aesthetic medicine is about results, but above all, it’s about patient safety.
