I often recommend a short-scar brachioplasty for patients with mild to moderate loose skin thatā€™s mainly near the armpit, not extending down to the elbow.

This approach allows me to:
ļæ½ā€¢ Remove excess skin where it matters mostļæ½ā€¢ Hide the incision discreetly in the underarmļæ½ā€¢ Achieve arm contouring with less visible scarring and downtime

When patients start noticing a puffy, heavy, or swollen look that doesnā€™t go away, itā€™s often not ā€œjust swellingā€ or weight changes, it can be water retention caused by excess hyaluronic acid filler.

HA fillers are hydrophilic, meaning they attract water. Over time, layering filler can lead to puffiness, loss of definition, and features looking less like you. In these cases, adding more is rarely the answer.

A patient came to me after two failed breast procedures.
In her case, moving quickly wasnā€™t an option. Her tissue had already been through too much.

She also had a very clear goal in mind, a fairly large desired size (650 cc) which made planning even more critical. Achieving that result safely required patience and strategy, not force.ļæ½
So we chose a different path.

We used a tissue expander strategy, gradually expanding the breast over time rather than rushing to an implant exchange. Over the course of approximately nine months, we slowly worked toward her desired size, allowing the tissue to adapt, strengthen, and tolerate change safely. Only once the tissue was truly ready did we exchange the expanders for new implants, confident her body could support the outcome.ļæ½
This approach required patience, but patience is often where the best results live.
ļæ½In surgery, success isnā€™t defined by how fast we get there. Itā€™s defined by thoughtful planning, respect for the bodyā€™s limits, and the willingness to let time do some of the work, especially when rebuilding after setbacks.
