THANKSGIVING
The first recorded Thanksgiving celebration took place in 1621, when the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag people came together to share an autumn harvest. For more than two centuries, communities have gathered in gratitude during this season of abundance.

It was not until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be observed each November—a reminder of unity, hope, and the healing power of gratitude.

Yet Thanksgiving is more than a single day or weekend. It is a way of living. True thanksgiving is not merely spoken; it arises from the core of our hearts, filled with love, humility, and devotion.

At White Dove Circle, this season offers a special time to express our gratitude—for all the blessings life has to offer and for the love, support, and fellowship shared within our community throughout the year.

As you offer your prayers this Thanksgiving holiday, please remember our men and women in uniform who serve our country, both at home and abroad. May they be protected and blessed always.

May you be surrounded by love always. May peace and love reign throughout the world.

JOIN US FOR A DRUM CIRCLE with Douglas Blue Feather TODAY, Saturday, November 15, 2-3 pm! — Suggested Love Offering $20 - No One Turned Away

A mother drum, about 15 assorted types of hand drums, and a variety of shakers and rattles will be provided. Please bring your own drum or percussion instrument if you have one. No prior experience is necessary to participate in a drum circle, so let’s get together for a healthy, fun, and positive experience!!

Douglas Blue Feather has been a drummer for 60 years and has been facilitating drum circles for over 30 years. Drum circles offer significant physical and mental health benefits by lowering stress and anxiety, boosting the immune system, and reducing chronic pain through rhythmic physical movement. Participants experience increased feelings of well-being, energy, and self-expression, along with enhanced social connection and a sense of community. These drumming sessions promote mindfulness, synchronized brain activity, and the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, while also providing a safe space for emotional expression.

"I will start each drum circle with a short 5-minute meditation to relax the mind and center the body along with a slow heart beat rhythm on the mother drum. Drumming is a physical activity, so next we will do a few minutes of simple stretches to loosen up the muscles in the fingers, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and neck to prepare for the drumming to start. The first round will consist of a relaxed tempo for approximately 25-30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute break, and a second round of a slightly faster tempo lasting approximately 15-20 minutes.
