Sometimes the brain gets stuck in patterns it didn’t choose.

Stress. Trauma. Anxiety. Poor sleep.
Over time, these experiences can shape the way the brain functions.

Neurofeedback is a gentle, non-invasive way of helping the brain learn healthier patterns again. By monitoring brain activity and providing real-time feedback, neurofeedback helps the brain practice better regulation - supporting things like sleep, mood, focus, and emotional balance.

Many people describe it as “physical therapy for the brain.”

If you’re curious about neurofeedback or wondering if it might be helpful for you or someone you love, Kelsey Gilley, APRN, CNM, our neurofeedback provider, is ready to answer your questions and guide you. Reach out anytime to learn more.

• Events and development
• Marketing and storytelling
• Community outreach and volunteer engagement

This is an unpaid, mostly remote internship in Northwest Arkansas with flexible hours and meaningful involvement.

If you're curious, motivated, and want to learn how purpose-driven organizations support those who serve others - we’d love to hear from you.

Tuesday Therapy Tip ✨

"There is good to be found."
This isn’t a denial of the hard.
It’s an invitation.

In the brokenness all around us these days - in the overwhelm, the uncertainty, the grief - there is still good to be found.

Today’s invitation:
✔️ Name one thing that felt steady.
✔️ Notice one moment of kindness.
✔️ Write down one small win.

Looking for the light doesn’t erase the dark.
It just reminds us it isn’t the only thing there.

We all get weary on our healing journey at times. That's completely normal. 💛

Sometimes, progress isn’t about leaps or giant moves. It’s just showing up, taking the next step, or doing one small thing toward your goal. 🌱
Remember: small steps still move you forward.

Healthy organizations don’t just care for the people they serve - they care for the people doing the serving. 🤍

At GAP Relief, leadership puts that belief into practice by investing in the people doing the work. That means investing in our team ... not just professionally, but personally.

Take a quick glimpse at some of our staff meetings and you’ll notice the difference right away. Our meetings have included learning from an art therapist, a financial advisor, a medical doctor, wellness coaches and therapists, and even experiencing equine-assisted learning. We’ve created space to grow, reflect, and be resourced for the work we carry.

But culture isn’t built on training alone.
It’s built on people.

So we make room for laughter and celebration at holiday parties.
We practice gratitude.
We create space for honesty & vulnerability - “confession before battle” - because this work requires courage and community.

We honor one another.
We show up for each other.
And we keep learning together.

We’re grateful for leadership that understands this work is heavy - and chooses to invest in the people carrying it. 🤍

Tuesday Therapy Tip 🖤

“What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?”
“Help,” said the horse.

-from The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

Mackesy reminds us that vulnerability is strength.

Asking for help is not weakness.
It’s courage.

If you’ve been trying to hold it all together, maybe today is the day you reach out - to a friend, a counselor, a trusted voice.

Bravery doesn’t always look like pushing through.
Sometimes it looks like letting someone in.

Rest is not a reward - it’s a necessity. Take a pause today.

Not a vacation.
Not a full day off.
Just a pause.

Try one of these:

• Step outside for 3 minutes and take 5 slow breaths.
• Put your phone down and close your eyes for 60 seconds.
• Drink a full glass of water without multitasking.
• Stretch your neck and shoulders.
• Say “I’ll respond tomorrow” instead of answering immediately.

Small pauses regulate your nervous system.
Small pauses prevent burnout.
Small pauses count. 🤍

Everyone carries something.

Some burdens are visible.
Some are tucked quietly beneath smiles and busy schedules.

A diagnosis.
Grief.
Financial stress.
Burnout.
Loneliness.
Pressure to hold it all together.

So let’s carry kindness.
Let’s carry patience.
Let’s carry empathy.

You never know what the person in front of you is holding. 🤍

🌿 Wednesday Wellness

When your thoughts feel loud or your body feels tense, grounding can help bring you back to the present.

The 5-4-3-2-1 exercise works because it engages your senses, helping regulate your nervous system and ease the intensity of anxious or overwhelming thoughts.

You can do it anywhere! At your desk, in the car, before a hard conversation, or in the middle of a stressful moment. It is one of our favorite grounding exercises.

Small tools can make a big difference.
