Why is peer play important?

Playing with friends creates a safe environment to practice turn taking, emotional regulation, problem solving, and language skills.

At All About Kids, we like to use peer play to give our kids a chance to practice these valuable skills in real life situations!

🧡March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month

A child with a developmental disability might look like a child in a wheelchair, a child with assistive communication or listening devices, and a child with orthotics but it could also be harder to see in some children. It could look like a child who feels really big emotions, a child who needs extra time, a child who learns differently, a child who requires extra sensory stimulation to cope, or a child who needs more patience and assistance in loud, busy environments.

This month, we are celebrating these children and acknowledging their strength, resilience, and uniqueness 🧡
