I wanted to thank every resident that showed up and had fun at our valentine's Day celebration yesterday. We had such a blast and made lovely memories. We crowned a king and queen based off of resident votes. The king & queen winners were Paul & Lois. They deserved it and we want to send much love their way. We also want to thank the staff that stepped up to help serve and make the residents feel special, it didn't go unnoticed. Happy Valentine's Day all!!

Paddle and Plate was a HUGE and fun success this week. Paddle and plate is a newer program that we will be doing twice a month. The goal with Paddle and Plate is to bring together the culinary talents of the dining team with the creativity and connection driven focus of the programming team. This signature initiative celebrates food as a sensory, cultural and educational experience- curated through live culinary demonstartions, hands-on tastings, and meaningful exploration of local and seasonal food sources.

With each monthly session residents are invited to participate in and immersive event that blends flavor of fun, storytelling and skill building and education with enrichment. Whether that is sampling new foods, learning nutritional benefits, or visiting a local grower or supplier, Paddle and Plate creates flavorful experiences that stir conversation and strenthen community.

For this first Paddle and Plate of the month we chose the chocolate lovers theme. We did allow them to use a chocloate fountain to chocolate coat different food items, some savory, some sweet. We also decorated cupcakes. We were proud that not only did the activity department and food and beverage come to have fun so did the floor staff and the management team. Thank you all for showing these resdidents what it mwans to have a good time. We also followed up the fun with even more fun with chocolate trivia. Can't wait for the next onw at the end of the month.

We are so excited for some of our various projects working with kids inside the community. Intergenerational activities are really important for seniors and we are having so much fun. Right now we want to welcome Elijah our new volunteer for bingo on Wednesdays from Harber High. We would also like to welcome the after school program kids at Harber High for coming during storytime and playing instruments and chatting with our seniors. Can't wait to see what fun it brings in the future and we want to thank all of our community volunteers. You rock!

Yesterdays art and craft was an absolute blast. We do crafts every Monday at 1:30pm. Would love for anyone that would like to, to join us! We decided to make wooden kissing booths that hold Hershey kisses. These were a lot of fun to get into. Paint is always an adventure.

Just a reminder that we will be having a fun Valentine's Day Party Fridat February 13th @ @2:30pm. We want everyone to have fun dressing up and showing out. We are also going to crown a king and queen. They can be any two residents in the building. Please don't forget to vote. The voting box is located under the big calendar outside the post office. We wanted to share with you what our PSL Pay It Forward event is this month. In February we are taking donations for a shelter that we are working closely with. On the flyer there is a list of items that they need at the shelter. This shelter supports men, women and children. We want to get all that we can if you are able to offer anything. There are two black tubs up front for donation items. We will personally deliver these items to the shelter. If there are questiosn please don't hesitate to reach out to Teia Keen our program and outreach director. We will do this donation until the very last day in the month of February.
