To check on seniors during a heat emergency, ensure they are hydrated and in a cool, air-conditioned environment, or at a public cooling center. Monitor for signs of heat exhaustion like heavy sweating, weakness, or nausea. Keep them hydrated with water, juices, or sports drinks, but check with their doctor for specific fluid instructions. If they show signs of illness, move them to a cool place, loosen their clothing, and apply cool, wet cloths to their skin; however, if you suspect a serious issue, call 911 immediately.
