We recently had the opportunity to attend the Creative Aging Community Program at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art, a workshop dedicated to bringing Art + Wellness to seniors in Northwest Arkansas. Four of our amazing Volunteers—Lynne Eid, Sharon Nelson, Jennifer Travis, and Lara Tuepeker—joined in as we explored needle felting, cyanotype, and mono-printing with local artists.

This program is helping organizations across NWA find new ways to spark creativity, connection, and joy for the people we serve. We’re excited to bring these new skills back to our patients and launch bedside “art kits” and a Mobile Art Lab event this fall.

Thank you, Crystal Bridges, for inspiring us to share the healing power of art!

Some of the most meaningful moments happen in the simplest ways—a shared laugh, a quiet conversation, or celebrating another year together. Hospice makes space for those moments.

At Circle of Life, we’re honored to support families so they can focus on what matters most: being together, creating memories, and surrounding their loved one with care and comfort.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Butterfly Brunch at the Springdale Country Club. The program featured a panel of our chaplains, who shared meaningful insight into the work they do each day to support patients and families. Their perspectives offered a deeper understanding of the comfort, guidance, and presence they bring to end-of-life care.

We appreciate everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering a thoughtful and memorable event.

Thank you to the NWA Marketing Group for hosting a panel discussion in recognition of National Hospice Month. Our team shared a closer look at how Circle of Life supports patients and families—through expert guidance and a coordinated approach that helps people feel supported during some of life’s most challenging moments.

The discussion highlighted what sets our care apart: a strong interdisciplinary team and a commitment to meeting each family where they are.

We appreciate the chance to share our work with local leaders and to continue building understanding around the vital role hospice plays in our community.

One of our patients recently shared a wish—to take a ride in a 1959 Dodge Custom Royal. While we searched for that specific car, we weren’t able to locate one… but something wonderful still happened.

This patient spent years helping rebuild classic cars, and when presented with a few options, he chose a beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for his special ride. It was the perfect fit—a moment filled with joy, memories, and the unmistakable magic of a classic car.

Thank you for helping us bring meaningful moments to the people we serve.

We’re so thankful for this partnership with Quail Ridge Living Center and for the opportunity to collaborate in advancing dementia care education.

A special thank you to Taylor Slaughter for leading the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar. We’re proud to work alongside organizations that share our commitment to compassionate, knowledgeable care for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

We look forward to continuing this meaningful work together as we move forward in providing care in Northeast Oklahoma.

Circle of Life Hospice Leads the Way in Dementia Care Education 💜

Our Administrator had the privilege of teaching an “Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar” at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas earlier this week. Circle of Life is the first hospice in the NE Oklahoma & NW Arkansas region to host this seminar with our Administrator as they work toward becoming Certified Dementia Practitioners through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Their leadership team recognizes the growing need for Dementia education and preparedness as the “silver tsunami” approaches—an aging population that will bring a significant rise in Alzheimer’s & Dementia-related care needs. Their commitment to proactive training ensures their team is ready to meet these challenges with knowledge, compassion, and excellence.

Circle of Life is now an available Hospice option at our facility! We are so happy to see them growing & coming across the state line to provide services.

At Circle of Life, we proudly recognize and celebrate those who have served our country. Each veteran patient is honored with a special ceremony that includes a certificate of recognition, a challenge coin, and an American flag blanket presented to them and their family. This heartfelt tribute acknowledges their service, sacrifice, and acts of courage. Our participation in the We Honor Veterans program is one of the many reasons families choose Circle of Life.

A reminer to be gentle and kind.

Dear world,
Please be gentle with grieving hearts as the holidays near.

They walk among us, often quietly and unseen.
They wear smiles that seem bright. They laugh in ways that sound real.
They show up for others while silently carrying the weight of someone missing.

Some will set the table with one chair empty this year.
Others will hold a recipe card in their mother’s handwriting and feel the ache of her absence all over again.
There will be real moments of joy—followed by the sharp sting of knowing new memories being made don’t include the one they wish was still here.

It’s the strange beauty of being human: joy and grief, forever intertwined.

So when you see a grieving heart, don’t look away.
Lean in. Cry with them. Sit with them if it’s all they can manage.
And let your love be louder than their silence.

It’s true, love can’t fix grief.
But it reminds us we’re not alone in it.
And that’s what matters most.

SPECIAL REQUEST: One of our patients has shared a wish—to take a ride in a 1959 Dodge Custom Royal.

We’re hoping to find someone in the Northwest Arkansas area who owns this classic car and might be willing to help make this wish come true. If you or someone you know would be interested in providing this special experience, we would love to connect.

Please let us know by email: info@nwacircleoflife.org. Thank you!
