If you’ve noticed…

•You’re slipping back into coping patterns you know aren’t healthy
• You feel overstimulated, numb, or detached — like life is happening around you, not with you
• A big change (new job, move, breakup, loss) has left you feeling unsettled
• You’ve been feeling “off” but can’t explain why
• You’re doing all the right things and still feel anxious, heavy, or unsatisfied
• You’re doubting yourself more or replaying conversations in your head

It does not mean you’re failing.
It mean you need support.

Going back to therapy isn’t a setback.
It’s self-awareness.
It’s maintenance.
It’s strength. 🦋

🦋 Before starting therapy: things that will help your experience go smoothly

1️⃣ It usually takes 1–3 sessions to see if your therapist is a good fit.
2️⃣ You don’t need to worry about “burdening” your therapist—they’re trained to support you.
3️⃣ The relationship with your therapist is the most influential factor in your progress.
4️⃣ You can still have a profound session, even if you don’t know what to talk about.
5️⃣ Noticeable progress often comes after 7–13 sessions.
6️⃣ Not every therapist is the right fit—and that’s OK. Don’t let one experience block you from something life-changing.

Love shouldn’t hurt… especially when you’re still learning who you are as a person.
A healthy relationship doesn’t involve fear, pressure, or control.
What do you think love should feel like?

If something doesn’t feel right, talk to a trusted adult, counselor, or friend. You deserve support and safe love—always. 🦋

Just because you’re doing well doesn’t mean you feel well.

Here are 10 signs that seem normal- but aren’t ⤵️

1. Always being “the reliable one” — even when you’re exhausted.

2. Over-preparing for everything (and still worrying it’s not enough)

3. Constantly replaying conversations in your head afterward.

4. Feeling guilty when you rest or relax.

5. Perfectionism that looks like ambition.

6. Staying busy so you don’t have to sit with your thoughts.

7. Smiling on the outside while your mind never slows down.

8. Trouble sleeping because your brain won’t turn off.

9. Needing control to feel calm.

10. Everyone thinking you “have it all together” — but you feel on edge inside.

These are signs of high functioning anxiety. If you’re tired of appearing calm and collected on the outside, when the rest of you is panicking beneath the surface reach out to us at Serenity Psychological Service to schedule your appointment today. 🗓️

This month we remind ourselves that grief isn’t something we “get over”—it’s something we learn to carry. If you’re moving through a heavy season, your feelings are valid. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to rush your healing. 🦋

12/02/2025

This time of year can stir up a lot—memories, emotions, and the ache of missing someone. If the waves feel heavier right now, you’re not alone. There’s still life in between them, and you’re allowed to take each moment as it comes.

And you may not be affected by this but check on those you love. It never hurts to. 🦋
