“Welcoming our second baby into the world was such an empowering and positive experience, and having Emily by our side made all the difference.

Before labor even began, Emily educated and guided my husband and I walk through deciding on our preferences and birth plan. We didn’t just “hope for the best” — we were equipped with practical tools.

During labor, Emily was constantly helping me stay mentally positive and physically changing positions. She guided my husband and I through each stage. One of the things I appreciated most was how seamlessly Emily worked alongside the nurses and hospital staff. I always felt calm and supported.

The most meaningful moment for me was near the end, when things felt so hard and intense. In that vulnerable space, Emily offered to pray over me. It grounded me, strengthened me, and reminded me that God had equipped me for this.

This birth was empowering, positive, and amazing — and so much of that is because of Emily’s presence, preparation, and unwavering support.”

Okay but really - statistically, babies are mostly likely to arrive past the traditional 40 weeks mark.

Your due date is a GUESS. Built off of “perfect cycles lengths” and a specific ovulation day.

Your body is not clockwork. Due dates really should be seen as windows of time baby is expected to arrive - from about 37-42 weeks, sometimes a little more.

So going over your due date is NORMAL. We must honor our baby’s timeline. We must honor our body’s pace.

That last month can be a tough final push. Eating well, hydrating well, and mentally preparing to be in it for the long haul and honor your baby’s needs will help you prepare to feel your best in those final days of pregnancy. And we’re here cheering you on the whole way!

During your consultations, we work to get to know you and see how we vibe! We also go over everything we offer, but the most important part is making sure you feel like you’re adding the right addition to your birth team! 💪🏼

Station of baby matters SO MUCH! ⬇️

If your provider isn’t telling you the station of your baby when you opt for a cervical check, ASK! ‼️

Station of baby tracks their descent into your pelvis. -4, -3, -2 - they’re high and hanging out in the top/inlet of your pelvis. -1, 0, +1, they’re low and in your mid-pelvis. +2, +3, +4 and baby is through the outlet and in your arms! 👶🏼

Without pressure from baby’s head on your cervix, your contractions may not be efficient. A high up baby later in labor can also indicate malpositioning! We want baby descending throughout your labor! If they aren’t, we can work on positioning and movements to get them in that pelvis and moving down which will support efficient dilation! We’ve got lots of tools in our tool chest to support you and your partner in problem solving when labor throws a curveball! 💪🏼

When you hired us, you probably hired us for the emotional, spiritual, and physical support doulas bring to the table - a massive component of doula care! But you may not realize you also signed up for ✨education✨!

Our first prenatal meeting with you is one of my favs - it’s a time to discuss evidence-based information regarding different intervention and experiences you may be presented with at your birth, no matter where you choose to birth! 🤰🏻

It’s designed to leave you feeling empowered and able to walk into birth with a clear and confident head space so you feel empowered to make decisions. ✔️

More often than not, each birth comes with its own ebbs and flows and pivots. Our second prenatal meeting covers all the tools, mental prep, position work, and comfort measures you think of when you think of preparing for birth and a doula. We hope between both of our prenatal meetings you feel both mentally prepared and educated as well as equipped with physical tools to utilize during your labor. We’re here to prepare you before with intentional support so you can have an empowered birth. 🫶🏼

Ohhh this trend has me all in the feels. 🥹 Over 3 years ago, I started Bloom and Grow with Alyssa. It started as a strong desire to provide the most intentional support possible for moms and families.

It has become one of the absolute most sacred gifts.

From the depths of my heart - thank you. Thank you for trusting me. For teaching me the power of a woman and mother over and over again (and in that shaping how I continue to view myself as a mother!). For inviting me in to such an intimate space.

Because of each of you that has trusted me (and my incredible team) I have found more of myself than I thought possible. As I continue moving deeper into the world of birth work, and as I dwell on the incredible number of births I’ve had the honor and privilege to attend in the past 3 years, I cannot help but feel humbled and so immensely blessed.

I’ve told my husband many times that birth work is one of the few places I feel most at home. So here’s to many more years of serving you. 🫶🏼 - Brittany

Now that my little man is almost 4 months old, I’ve taken time and space to process my birth story. I hope by sharing it, it provides a raw, real, and encouraging picture of what a beautiful force labor is and the power of surrendering to it. 🫶🏼 - Brittany

Learn more about our new intern Ashley!

“Whether you’re preparing for your first birth or adding to your growing family, I’d love to be there to support you.”

Ashley is our new intern currently certifying under Childbirth International to be a birth doula. She is completing her certification through CBI and receiving additional training through Bloom and Grow’s team and will be our insurance-based doula - we are so excited to be able to offer more empowering support for our community through her intentional care! She is passionate about creating a calm, empowering space where every birthing person feels heard, supported, and confident.

Outside of her doula training, she is a momma to a sweet little girl, Eden and a wife to Dakoda. She also owns a photography business! She loves witnessing and supporting life’s raw, beautiful moments and connecting with people from all walks of life. Every family she meets reminds her why she loves birth work— no two stories are the same, and that’s what makes it so special.

Ashley is currently certifying through CBI, training with Bloom and Grow, and soon to be working through her VBAC certification. She will be our insurance-based doula allowing us to offer even more support to our community!
