If you’ve signed up for a Humana Medicare Advantage Plan, you might see that North Star Health providers aren't shown as in-network. We still accept Humana Medicare Advantage plans, but since we’re considered out of network, it is important to review your plan and policy specifics to know what out-of-pocket costs you may incur.

If this is a hardship for you, please contact Valley Health Connections to learn about your options which may include enrolling in a traditional Medicare plan or applying for our sliding scale financial assistance.

It’s the Final Week of Vermont Health Careers Awareness Month!

All month long, our goal has been to inform, educate, and inspire everyone — from middle and high school students to adults exploring a “second act” — about the amazing opportunities in health careers right here in Vermont.

One incredible success story comes from Christina Lawrence, BSN, RN Care Coordinator with Springfield Health Center, whose journey began with our Southern Vermont AHEC MedQuest Program. Christina’s experience in MedQuest helped her discover her passion for nursing — and she’s been making an impact in rural health care ever since.

Here’s what Christina had to say about her journey:

"I always wanted to help people when I grew up, but it wasn't until I went to MedQuest that I knew I wanted to become a nurse. I saw how rewarding a nursing career can be and have enjoyed following in their footsteps. There is always something new to learn and wonderful people to meet. I have been working in rural healthcare for the past eight years and have no regrets. I am excited to further my education and continue working in the Green Mountain State!"
