We are a nonprofit community-based nurse midwifery birth center and health clinic in Springfield, OR.

We are feeling grateful for the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund for awarding us $5,000 to support our Equitable Access Fund.

Our Equitable Access Fund helps cover the costs when a client is uninsured or underinsured, as well as enables us to provide free lactation & feeding support every Monday during Baby Clinic and sliding-scale payment options for our childbirth preparation courses.

Our Grandparent's High Tea Fundraiser is just 10 days away!

Seats are filling up FAST. Don't wait to reserve your spot at the grandest affair of the season!

All are welcome to attend. Invite a grandparent or grand-friend, or come to honor those grandparents who cannot be there in person.

Enjoy tea, scones, cupcakes from Elegant Elephant Baking Co, and tea sandwiches; tea party games, a silent auction, and more!

Tatiana is a new birth center Board Member this year, as well as a birth center parent and therapist at Center for Family Development. We're lucky to have to advising and supporting Our Community Birth Center.

We could use a few volunteers to help us with our Grandparent's High Tea Fundraiser on February 22, 2026. Set up help begins at 4 pm, with the event running from 5 pm to 7pm, clean up from 7 pm to 8 pm. We have a birth center family who could use our help with getting a good working stroller for their infant. If you would like to donate a stroller you are no longer using or purchase one for this family, please reach out! The stroller must NOT be recalled, broken, or expired. We'd like to thank the Chambers Family Foundation for supporting us with a grant this winter to bolster our Equitable Access Fund, which helps us to provide care and services to clients regardless of their insurance type or ability to pay.

We're excited to announce that Emily Tyde has joined the birth center team. Emily is a Certified Professional Midwife who also has a background in massage therapy. Through various jobs, she has gained many skills that benefit her midwifery practice, including being excellent at IV insertions! She is also a great teacher and enjoys facilitating our Childbirth Preparation classes. Emily is also a mother to two energetic sons, both born with midwives. The oldest was born in a hospital and the youngest was born at home. Join us in welcoming Emily to the team!

Meet Cassie!

Cassie is new to our Board of Directors this year. She is a two-time birth center parent with a degree in applied arts from Central Michigan University. We are thrilled to have her experience and perspective on the birth center's Board of Directors.

It has come to this author’s attention that an event of utmost charm and significance is soon to grace our social calendar. But, pray, do not think this soirée is all lace and lemon cakes. Beneath its refined exterior lies a cause most noble: supporting equitable access to midwifery birth center care.
