--------
We have been getting quite a few questions from people in regard to getting certified for a medical ma*****na card.
Here are a few things we want to pass along:
🌱— Your appointment with our certifying physician will be private and confidential. When it comes to HIPAA compliance, the rules for medicinal ma*****na are similar to the rules for any other medical substance or service. Patient information is protected under HIPAA regulations in terms of both data storage and employee inquiries.
🌱— Our physician's role will be to review your health history and confirm you have a qualifying condition to be eligible for a card. You do NOT need to switch to True Zen Wellness for your primary care.
🌱— Health Insurance will not cover the cost of this appointment. New Certifications are $200. Re-certifications are $150.
🌱— True Zen Wellness is not a dispensary (meaning we do not provide the medicine or go into detail on the different strands, dosages, etc). We do however provide resources for further education.
🌱— After your appointment with the physician, you will need to register with the State of MO as they will be emailing you the certification card once they have processed the physician's recommendation. (Our office provides further instructions on how to apply after your appointment).
🌱— Below is a list of Missouri’s qualifying conditions which have been copied from Leafly.com (a great website if you’re wanting even more info on this subject)
-Cancer
-Epilepsy
-Glaucoma
-Intractable migraines unresponsive to other treatment
-Conditions that cause persistent pain or muscle spasms, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and Tourette’s syndrome.
-Debilitating psychiatric disorders including but not limited to, post-traumatic stress disorder, if diagnosed by a state licensed psychiatrist
-HIV/AIDS
-A chronic medical condition normally treated with prescription medication that can lead to dependence, when a physician determines that medical ma*****na could be an effective and safer treatment. (This is most commonly used with regard to prescription opioids.)
-Any terminal illness
-In the professional judgment of a physician, any other chronic, debilitating or other medical condition, including, but not limited to:
Hepatitis C
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/Lou Gehrig’s disease
Inflammatory bowel disease
Crohn’s disease
Huntington’s disease
Autism
Neuropathies
