🌿 Why Your Muscles Get Tight Even When You’re Not Doing Much
It’s one of the most common things I hear:
“I haven’t even done anything, so why am I so tight?”
Here’s the truth. Your body works hard even on the quiet days.
Muscles tighten for reasons that have nothing to do with workouts or heavy lifting:
Stress
Your body holds tension the same way your mind holds worry, especially in the shoulders, jaw, and low back.
Posture & Micro‑holding
Even small things like scrolling, driving, or sitting at a desk create tiny, constant contractions that add up.
Shallow breathing
When you’re stressed or tired, your breath gets shorter. That makes your neck, chest, and upper back work overtime.
Lack of movement
Muscles are meant to move. When they don’t, they stiffen, just like a door hinge that hasn’t been used.
Emotional load
Your body keeps score. When life feels heavy, your muscles often carry the weight.
Massage helps unwind all of this, not just the soreness from activity, but the tension that builds quietly in the background of everyday life.
If your body’s been feeling tight for “no reason,” that is the reason.
And I’ve got openings if you’re ready to feel a little lighter.
