“My counselor’s memory is impeccable, she listens and validates my concerns, and she teaches me the tools I need to process my trauma,” says Olivia.

Olivia came to counseling feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and panic attacks after experiencing several difficult life events at once. Her worries became so intense that even everyday moments felt stressful and exhausting. When she first tried to seek help elsewhere, the cost of therapy quickly became a barrier as the bills started to felt like getting the support she needed simply wasn’t possible.

That’s when Olivia found Ozarks Counseling Center. Because OCC offers a sliding-scale fee system based on income and household size, therapy became accessible and manageable. With the support of her counselor, Olivia began learning tools to process trauma, challenge anxious thoughts, and rebuild confidence in herself.

Olivia shares how constant use of GermX as a coping mechanism once left her hands raw and bleeding, and how affordable counseling at OCC helped her develop healthier habits and care for herself in a way that finally allowed her hands to heal.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you don’t have to face it alone. Support is available, and healing is possible.

Silence only gives stigma more space to grow. When we choose to talk about it — honestly and without shame — we make it easier for someone else to do the same. Let’s keep creating spaces where people feel safe enough to open up.
