Alford, Joseph 21-Year-Old Male | Springfield, OR

NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:

On the afternoon of February 2nd, 2026, the Springfield Police Department responded to investigate a road rage incident that occurred near the intersection of Pioneer Parkway East and C Street in Springfield. It was reported; two co-workers were driving to work together when they observed a vehicle in front of them traveling slower than the speed limit. As they drove up beside the other driver, they observed he was on his phone. The other driver was later identified as 21-year-old Joseph Alford.

As the victims were next to Alford’s vehicle, one of the victims decided to make a comment to Alford about being on his phone. Alford responded by pulling out a handgun and pointing it at them. The victims feared for their lives, driving away from Alford before reporting the incident to police. Through further investigation, Alford was identified as the alleged suspect. A background check revealed he was legally prohibited from possessing fi****ms.

Later in the evening, Alford was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. Springfield Detectives were contacted and requested to assist with the investigation. A search warrant was obtained to search the location for evidence of the crime. At the conclusion, two fi****ms were located in Alford’s possession. He was arrested for two counts of Menacing with a firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and lodged at the Lane County Jail.

Anyone involved or who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the Springfield Police Department at 541-726-3721.

A bag containing shelf‑stable food items will be dropped off at your front door!⁠

La dificultad para pagar la atención medica afecta a las personas de todo nuestro estado de maneras muy reales y personales.

Invitamos a las personas en Oregon a compartir cómo les afectan los costos de la atención médica.
Una historia surgió de una pequeña clínica de salud mental en Salem que no puede cubrir a sus propios empleados debido al alto costo del seguro.

En las próximas semanas, compartiremos más historias que muestran cómo los costos de la atención médica afectan a las personas.

El nuevo Comité de Asequibilidad de la Atención Médica de OHA está actualmente generando ideas para políticas públicas para abordar este problema. ESCUDO LATINO TRYING IT BEST TO BE A SAFE PLACE FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO REACH OUT AND GET ANY HEL OR INFORMATION. WITH IN THIS PASS MONTHS WE HAVE BEEN WORKING SLOWLY TO GET MORE FAMILIAR WITH OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS AND START DIFFERENT PROJECTS TO GET HELP NEEDED TO THOSE WHO NEED IT THE MOST IN HARD TIMES , LIKE AS WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PAST MONTHS.
