Warm up your winter with a high-energy night of hockey as the Springfield Thunderbirds take on the Bridgeport Islanders at home. Enjoy a pregame concert, so you can make an evening of it before the puck drops. The Thunderbirds are the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and are heading into a milestone season, celebrating 10 years as an AHL club and five seasons in their Blues partnership. If you’re a regular fan, ticket memberships are available with added perks, including a special edition season ticket holder jersey.

Springfield Symphony Orchestra: Planet Earth: A Symphonic Journey

Spend your Valentine’s Day afternoon with a concert that is grounded in awe for the natural world. The Springfield Symphony Orchestra presents the U.S. premiere of Johan de Meij’s Symphony No. 3 Planet Earth, performed alongside a stunning film created by Dyan Machan. It’s an immersive experience that pairs live music with moving imagery—an ode to Mother Earth in sound and light. Enjoy Holst’s Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity and De Meij’s T-Bone Concerto, performed by Joseph Alessi, principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic. Starting with the January 17 concert, the Symphony is also hosting an Instrument Drive to benefit the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras. Bring a playable instrument in good condition and you’ll receive two free tickets to a classical SSO concert in the 2025–26 season.
