Springfield Symphony Orchestra: Gloria! From Vivaldi to Gershwin
Saturday, April 11, 2026 | 3:00 – 5:30 PM
Symphony Hall, 34 Court Street, Springfield, MA
Cost: $25–$80
Enjoy an afternoon inside a sweeping musical journey from Vivaldi to Gershwin. The Springfield Symphony Orchestra presents a program that blends the precision of Baroque music with the richness of French modernism and the vibrant pulse of American jazz.
The concert begins with Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos, unfolds through the luminous and expressive Gloria by Poulenc, and builds toward the hypnotic crescendo of Ravel’s Bolero. It closes with Gershwin’s An American in Paris, a lively, cinematic piece that captures the energy of a city in motion.
Featuring conductor Kedrick Armstrong, soprano Jamie-Rose Guarrine, and collaborations with the Springfield Symphony Chorus and UMass Amherst Chorale, this performance brings together powerful voices and full orchestral sound for a layered, immersive experience.

Springfield Museums Festival of Flowers
Thursday–Sunday, April 9–12, 2026
Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards Street, Springfield, MA
Included with regular admission
This month join our local museum as they welcome in spring with the Festival of Flowers. The Festival of Flowers fills the galleries with imaginative floral arrangements inspired by everything from paintings and sculptures to vintage vehicles and even dinosaurs. Created by local florists and garden club members, each display interprets a museum object through color, texture, and form—turning familiar exhibits into something entirely new. Throughout the weekend, the experience extends beyond the displays. Visitors can explore hands-on activities, guided tours, and special programs—including Family Day, where interactive stations invite guests to create mini bouquets, learn about pollination, and engage directly with the materials of spring.
