A fun day for the Alan G. Birtch, MD, Transplant Services at Memorial 5K Run/Walk earlier this fall netted more than $10,000 for Springfield Memorial Foundation transplant funds. Organ transplant patients can receive assistance from transplant funds to help with lodging, prescriptions and other routine needs.

A kitten rescue for the win! Memorial Child Care colleagues teamed up with Memorial Health Security to rescue a kitten who hid inside a car engine at daycare drop off! It took an hour to coax the kitten out with food, milk and “mama cat” meows, compliments of YouTube! Perfect ending – the kitten was adopted by one of the daycare parents and named “Kia.”
