Effective March 11, temporary visitor restrictions are lifted at all Memorial Health hospital locations. These restrictions are no longer necessary because respiratory illness activity has been low statewide for several weeks, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. We have also seen a significant drop in hospitalization due to respiratory illness.

With the lifting of these restrictions, the following changes go into effect:
- More than two visitors are now permitted in patient rooms.
- Visitors younger than 18 are now permitted in patient rooms when appropriate.

Meet Clayton Long, an intern at our Baylis Day Surgery location! Clayton is part of Project SEARCH, a program we've been proud to support since 2021. Through this partnership with Springfield Public Schools - District 186, Sparc and the Illinois Department of Human Services, students with disabilities gain real job experience while making valuable contributions to our Memorial team. We love seeing these students grow and succeed!

We recently added 15 new virtual patient monitoring devices, which allow our nurses & staff to monitor at-risk patients around the clock, helping prevent falls and protect our most vulnerable patients when they need it most. Chief nursing officer Jennifer Bond is grateful for this “invaluable tool to keep our most vulnerable patients safe around the clock." Thanks to Farmingdale elementary students at Pleasant Plains Schools for helping us celebrate Heart Month. The creative heart-themed coloring sheets brightened our cardiac units and waiting room and helped raise awareness of heart health.
