With so many people suggesting it and asking about it, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign in Donny’s honor to help with funeral and medical expenses.

With such a massive response to the life Donny lead, many people have asked where they can send their support for the family. The best ways to help right now are to contribute if you can, share this for anyone who may miss it or wants to know about it, or just continue to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.

The outpouring of love we have received in response to this news has been so touching and it is a true testament of his character and how he lived his life.

Important Appointment Announcement:

As some of you may already know, Donny passed away suddenly on Sunday from a heart attack.

This business meant the world to him, and getting to know each and every one of his clients was an honor I know he cherished deeply. I know he is sorely missed by many already, and we will continue to mourn his loss.
We have done our best to cancel appointments in the future, but know there will be questions as well.
Some clients have chosen to pre-pay for their services. If that is you and you would like us to attempt to refund you, please reach out with more information on your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
If you would like to attend his visitation, it will be held on Monday, September 26th at Schweitzer United Methodist church in Springfield, MO. It will be at 3pm.
We want to celebrate his life with the people who meant the most to him, and know he treated his clients like family. Please reach out with any questions.

Thank you for all the warm wishes and genuine concern about the situation with dad!

Today, we got to bring dad home! He is doing very well and getting around on his own with a little assistance from a walker or cane. We still have a little ways to go before he is back to himself. Just a little stability and strength and he will be all good.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you all reaching out and checkin in to see how things are going.

Now that we have him home, we can settle the schedule a bit and get a routine going which will enable me to fully open up my office schedule again. Scheduling online will be updated this weekend with current hours available. If you see it open on the schedule, it is truly available!

Once again, I want to thank you all for your care and concern! I look forward to getting back to a more normal routine in the coming days.

See you SOON!!

I'm still here, but things may look a little different going forward

Hi everyone!

There is a lot to unpack from the last few weeks in my life. I will try give a brief update just so there is an understanding how things may change a little in scheduling going forward.
About 3 weeks ago, we found that my father had a brain bleed, likely from a fall in the weeks prior to that. He had surgery to correct the bleed, but yesterday we discovered that it came back and he is scheduled for another surgery today. They will do some other testing to see if there is something hiding that is causing the bleed to be stubborn and will need further attention.

What does this mean?

When all is said and done, there is the possibility that he will not regain full function of his limbs and such and will require more at home care. Mom and dad are both in their 80's, so this will be a whole new experience for us and we simply do not know how much attention they will need that I will have to give in care for them as I am the only sibling living in the area. As I will have to take what we believe to be a significant time away from the office in that regard initially, we may find it a little more difficult to find openings where I can still practice.
I have no intentions of closing my office and will give as much as I can to caring for you. We just don't know what we don't know at this time. After the shock and confusion settles, we will find a perfect balance that won't affect my office schedule much at all. This is all yet to be determined as we wait for the surgery and recovery to find where everything lands. What we DO know is that I will be handling much of the day-to-day happenings of the household for the foreseeable future.

I appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we wait for answers and strength and clear sight for how to handle our new normal.

Love you all more than I can possibly express.

A message about gratefulness.

After a lengthy and detailed bout with progressive weakness, I took my father to urgent care yesterday to see if we could find answers. We had previously seen his PC and cardiologist and were on a plan to see if meds given would help. They didn't and we were in urgent care. They quickly sent us to the ED where the doctor ran a barrage of tests and found a large brain bleed. He called in a neuro surgeon who explained what was happening and the procedure needed to correct the problem. We expected an admit and a few days wait for the surgery, but she said she wanted to do it now and, with our OK, would have the OR prepped and him in surgery within the hour. Away we go. Surgery was a success and he is now recovering very well and we hope to have him back home in a couple days.

I am grateful for the spirit urging my dad (a generation of not going to the doctor) to go to the doctor. Thank you to my brother who decided to drive in to be here just in case. I am grateful for the quick thinking of the urgent care triage to send us to ED and for the ED doctor and staff finding the issue. I am grateful most of all for a neuro surgeon who must have moved mountains in her schedule and the OR schedule to get this done NOW.

Thank you God for lining all of this up. For the lessons learned, the skilled staff who took care of my dad, and recovery that everyone is telling us is far better than what they usually see.

I am truly grateful

I swear the Julies Chewies Gourmet Cookies are just as beautiful as they are tasty. Problem is I can never hold one long enough to take a picture. For the record, today, I paired a chocolate chip cookie with a Fizz Sips-n-Sweets Tart Wheel.
