The mission of the Occupational Therapy Department at Missouri State University is to educate holistic, reflective occupational therapy practitioners who understand the complexity of occupation and value its role in the promotion of health and wellness. Didactic and experiential learning will promote occupation-based practice, ethical leadership, community engagement, cultural humility, scientific inquiry, and life-long learning to develop generalist practitioners who are prepared to meet the needs of persons, groups, and populations across a variety of settings, including those in rural and underserved communities.

Eleanor is here to remind you that there is still time to bring your holiday donations to the office! SOTA is collecting non-perishable foods and hygiene supplies for Victory Mission until Friday, Dec. 5. We are also collecting household essentials for the Family Connection Center until Thursday, Dec. 4.

✨ Fieldwork Friday ✨

Elijah is completing his second level II rotation with Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He has been in the burn unit and acute care, along with evaluating new patients. Elijah has been enjoying making splints, learning the importance of contracture prevention and how a calm influence can benefit patients. He looks forward to learning more about how to work with medically complex patients and the best way to help them.

Thank you to the Mercy Hospital Springfield for welcoming Elijah!
