Minor flooding due to a frozen sprinkler head on a water pipe at HSHS St. John's Hospital is under control and is not affecting patient care.
Visitors are asked to use the Children's Hospital entrance now through 6 p.m. when the main lobby is expected to reopen. Outpatient Lab registration will resume at 7 a.m. on Monday, January 26.

In 2025, HSHS St. John’s Hospital celebrated 150 years of caring for the community of Springfield. From walking in the Illinois State Fair Parade, to our St. John’s Bartender Night, and a special cookie delivery from our Hospital Sisters. During respiratory illness season, we are implementing the following visitor guidelines across our HSHS Illinois and Wisconsin hospitals as a precautionary measure to help protect our colleagues, patients and visitors:

Only two people are allowed to visit a patient at any one time.

Also, please do not visit patients if you:
• Have a cold or any flu-like symptoms including, fever or chills, sore throat, body or muscle aches, headache, cough or runny nose
• Are under 18 years of age
