Each organization is dedicated to promoting the health & health education of our community. Representing over 300 physicians in southwest Missouri, the Greene County Medical Society ("GCMS") is the entity which pulls physicians together as a profession regardless of other affiliations. The Greene County Medical Society has a long history of innovation, leadership, education, advocacy, and service.
With health care reforms upon us, it is very important that physicians become well-positioned to adapt to any changes in the health care environment. GCMS is a vehicle that helps us be more organized and have a voice in the upcoming changes as we participate and contribute in shaping the presence and future of our profession and our community. We invite all physicians in southwest Missouri to participate. Join us as we work together as physicians and in collaboration with organizations in our communities to address the needs of our patients and our professions. ABOUT THE GCMS ALLIANCE
The Greene County Medical Society Alliance is an organization for physician spouses and friends of the Alliance dedicated to promoting health and health education in our community and providing support to our physician families. Current education projects include providing healthy lifestyle literature to elementary our school children, and distributing the our Pills are NOT a Party! and Smoking Makes Me Ugly educational DVDs for middle school students, and working with the MSMAA and AMAA to develop new materials addressing the current prescription opioid crisis. The Alliance also addresses physician burnout/wellness with their "Taking Care of Our Own" program and "Physician Family Day" campaign. Contact the GCMS office for upcoming events.
